This was audition show called "Superband 2". Most of the members you see here formed band called Kardi. If you need to see some more of Kim Yeji and Kardi, you should check out her first audition on this program, "River". Also, Kardi's first song in Superband 2, "7000 RPM" is great. That was their first original piece. Another recommendation is Superband 2 piece by Crackshot "Oops! I did it again". I'm a big fan of Kardi and Kim Yeji in particular, and Yeji and Kardi performed in lot of other TV shows that are just as mindboggling that you should check out. Also note that Kim Yeji won Korean version of "Masked Singer" 5 straight times in summer of 2022, and all of those performances are great.

Kim Yeji was sort of discovered through the Voice of Korea. Her blind audition there is well worth checking out. Even if that was a bit different than what she has done since, it still showcases 2 of her main strength. Complete uniqueness and insane vocal technique and control. Legends Never Die is from Against The Current, an American pop/rock band 😁 I'm actually a huge Against The Current fan. They made the soundtrack for the game League of Legends.

The production of this is crazy. Vocal, gayageum, and guitar are also great, but Hwang Hyun-jo, who silently created all the sounds while taking on MIDI, percussion, and second guitar, is a crazy talent. She's such a genius artist.

It is not a gayageum, but a geomungo. Unlike the 12-string gayageum, the geomungo has six strings. The gayageum also handles the strings with its hands, while the geomungo plays with a "suldae" that is the size of a ballpoint pen.

Yes. The instruments and her voice didn't match the song's emotions at all. You might not feel wrong emotions from the original, which is ok, which allowed you to enjoy this version.

A cover is an interpretation of the original which you put your own spin on and doesnt need to convey the same feeling. Look at Metal covers of pop song, swing versions of metal songs.... that's the WHOLE reason for a cover This version is 10x better than the original ​@GrandTerr
