Herb is a legend. Great voice that can sing harmony with anyone. He sang backup on some of Linda Ronstadt's most famous recordings. Also sang with Emmylou Harris and many others. Great banjo player. But most of all kind, gentle and humble.

glad I ran across this! Bluegrass has been around since it was derived from Scotch-Irish music a few hundred years ago. it is strongly rooted in my family and I am very excited that it is coming on stronger than ever before. Mr. Pederson is a very important figure in the historical sense. Thank you for picking his brain and enlightening those of us who care so deeply about music and those who fill the air with the enormous blessing of music.

I do have that as well but it does have the benefit of cherry-picking from all their output!

One of the best harmony singers around. Also a great banjo, songwriter and rhythm guitar player. Love his music. I have been a Herb Pedersen fan for a long time. I appreciate the video...but after 47 minutes I was thirsting for more information. I would rather have heard more of what Herb thinks and has done, than having him respond to the interviewer's statements and opinions.

Herbs banjo playing on David Grismans Here Today album is what inspired me to become a banjo player. That band also had some unknown young guy named vince gill on guitar and lead vocals! If you like bluegrass, check out this album. Herbs singing on the cut Once More will send chills down your spine.

I saw Herb with Chris live in Chester , England about 10 years ago. It was a great gig and nice to meet them both afterwards. Like the interviewer I first found Herb's name popping up in the credits on a number of LPs I bought in the 1970s and have collected a lot of his work. I especially like his composition Old Train - really love that song
