Herb was also a member of one of the greatest country rock super groups as well, along with Chris hillman, John Jorgensen & Tom Brumley “The desert rose band” Lots of hits in the 80’s & 90’s C’mon this guys a straight up legend!

At the time when all the lyrics sites had a particular line wrong one way or the other in Chris Hillman's Love reunited, I got in touch with Herb, and he sent me the correct lyrics. I felt honored to get a mail from this approachable legend. What a guy!

Herb is a great player and an unbelievable singer and harmony guy~ Got to hang with Herb back in the late 70's with Mike Post while Herb was cutting his album Southwest. Those few evening watching herb cut his vocals and harmonies was a master class~ Nicest guy ever~

My Gosh Herb and Norm! West Coast musicians sometines don't fully get bluegrass and that alot of us want to hear these stories. Herb is holding an older Gibson Granada and he leaves out one of the greatest stories or parts of his Banjo playing career! Herb actually auditioned and played with Lester Flatt while he filled in for Earl Scruggs who was recovering from Hip Surgery. Yes Lester Flatt chose Herb Pedersen to briefly take the place of Earl Scruggs! I can't believe Norm did not know this and Herb did not tell this story! I know your humble Herb, but you should have told that story. Total Legend here!

So it smacks of a 1925 ball bearing Mastertone with the holes in the side of the tone ring and the tiny letters spelling Mastertone on the peg head. Does it still have the springs and ball bearings in the rim?

Norm, love the store, love the videos, but pro tip... if you are going to touch your mask with those gloves that have touched everything else, you can dispense with the gloves. Any benefit is totally negated when you touch your mask. Were I you, I’d do away with the discomfort of the gloves. Unless you remove or replace your gloves before you touch your mask, they’re not helping. Please stay safe. You guys are great!

Nothing unusual about that Banjo all Gibson Mastertone banjos in 1925 had ball bearing tone rings. The back of the resonator is curly maple not walnut. Herb doesn’t seem to be as knowledgeable as I would think he would be.
