Having just built the Zvezda Tiger I (early war version) I am very envious of the rather nice track pattern on the Tigers you did. The Zvezda Tiger has grossly simplified tracks which rather spoil an otherwise OK it (for the price). Also, agree - the pre-damaged parts are a very nice touch. Two other areas where the FoW Tiger is better than the Zvezda one is that the FoW one has a nice muzzle break and correct exhaust covers (I had to drill out the muzzle break holes in my Zvezda)...And, finally, recieve 5 nerd-points for the Star Trek reference! :D

Good review! Just started watching your videos, good stuff! The color of the plastic is related to TANKS. All of the German tanks have yellow plastic, Olive Drab for US, various shades of green for USSR/UK, etc. TANKS is a solid game, I enjoy it for the quick and easy rules. You can run a list with just 3 tigers (which is supposedly pretty broken, I dont know as I have never run that many).

How about paint the tiger tank with Michael Wittmann's final tiger? Tiger 007 or the 212 included Or maybe Otto Carius' Tiger tank? Tiger 217. Or maybe that camo you see on the box?

How about painting them like the tigers in Kelly's Heroes?; an anachronistic, yet still cool-looking dark grey and green, with foliage?

The cheapest plastic is clear see through plastic, company's like Games Workshop add grey colour to their plastic moulding to colour the plastic grey, the sole purpose is for quality control, it makes it easier to see any faults in the sprues that come out from the mould. I found this out when i went for my Spirit of Games Workshop course when i used to work for them.

I like the Zimmerit Tiger by BF. I am always tempted to buy a box. But I already have 5(?)Tigers in 15mm. Unless you play a really big game when it comes to points that's more than enough. Nice video

Here's a tip for you small scale guys. Use a mask like silly putty or hand paint (if you thin the paint properly and use the proper brush you can have a very smooth finish with no brush strokes. Tip- get the paint on and don't "play" with it too long.) for the camo as the German camo typically had relatively hard spray edges. Most modelers in 1/35 and larger get it wrong so in 1/100 scale wide spray edges definitely are a problem and look way too fluffy.

The kits look ok, but I generally prefer the output of the PSC. Will you be getting the universal carrier box?

I will. My Brits will need them. PSC and Battlefront have them in plastic so maybe I'll get both one day.

Herbert Erpaderp, I didn't realise the FOW one was out. Looking at the parts, PSC seem to have the better looking kits with more options. A comparison seems like a good idea for a video.

It seems the FoW one isn't out yet, but available on their site for pre-order. PSC usually does seem to have more options most of the time.

very nice!! I quite like the zimmerit on this one. The tracks look good (maybe a bit too narrow), and i like the fact that they included a damaged set of skirts. its a bit of a shame about the gaps though.. BTW, is it just me, or does this tiger (or just the tracks) look a little narrow for its height...

The tracks look about right to me, they do look slightly wider if you look at the front from a slightly elevated angle, so maybe it depends on the angle you look at it.

I think that plastic colour has something to do with Tanks! game, all the german Tanks! tanks are that colour. Its supposed to make the tank look better unpainted and also, if you don't undercoat your miniatures, is the base colour of german camouflage paint. US tanks are green, Soviet tanks are dark green and British tanks are light green.

+1 this, the normal box will have grey plastic sprues, unless BF has decided to do country specific coloured plastic across the entire range. The new FoW Mid War & Team Yankee tanks are like that.

It's plastic cement. Super glue isn't really ideal for plastic. It's Revell contacta professional and I find it in all the local hobby stores.

The hull is roughly 6cm long, The gun protrudes another 2.5cm(ish) beyond the hull. it's about 3.5cm wide

Great review, but the Spare Track are looking bigger than the Tracksets on the wheels, It is weird that you have to drill the Gun Barrels on every Kit so far, it looks to me less effort max Profit, every Company have a different size of the Tank ,in times of CNC Machining unacceptably . Maybe for Gamers not so Important, but you also collect the Tanks so i think they can do it with more Accuracy and finer details , Machine Gun Barrel upscaled to a real one it would be a 120mm Gun. With no Detail on MG simply use a small Rod that much better the the Column comes with Kit.Or simply use a 1:35 scale MG Barrel it makes no difference only better Detail
