This version of Herbie had 185kw at the rear wheel's. Since it's a 1963 VW Beetle manual, they only weighed 709kg. I've seen some absurd HP figures for what the car is actually making, in truth it's so light that it wouldn't need that much to dominate with modern technology. There's a owner who put the RX7 FD engine into a VW Beetle, just a stock one. But with this engine, the VW Beetle ran 10sec all day down the 1/4 mile & embarressed alot of cars. To go with this high power, Herbie always seemed like it had traction control, electronic stability control & a LSD in order to move the way it does too. The only cars I could find that were lighter besides a Kei car was the Ginetta & the 1st gen Lotus Elise Sport 190.
