I appreciate your take on differing constitutions and results with plants. I had 3 strong sips of blue vervain and felt that was enough to find relief from muscle tension. I did not take or need to drink the whole cup! I also appreciate how you talk about how not all of this is everyday medicine.

Thank you so much for this introduction to using herbs for the nervous system. I've been using lovely Lemon Balm and Oat straw in tinctures for a while now and also filling the house and car with Melissa aromatherapy oil as I adore the smell, but you've given me some more wonderful ideas on what to experiment with next. Blue Vervain sounds like a great herb to use. Thanks again for a very interesting and informative presentation.

What parts of scutellaria do you use for tea? When is it best to harvest for tea?

Hi Melissa, the above ground parts, upper 2/3 of the plant. Leave out any stem that is woody. Skullcap is usually harvested in full flower.
