This movie is criminally underrated. For me, it's one of Disney's best, next to Tarzan. I love all the Greek mythology hints throughout the movie. The best part of this movie is that, no matter how hard Hercules strives for his place as a True Hero among the Gods, he NEVER forgets his adoptive parents! Not only does he set them up for life, but the cape he wears is the one his Mom gave to him! Edit: The reason Hercules got his strength back is because Hades' deal was broken; he promised Meg wouldn't get hurt.

One of the many things I love about Hercules is that Amphytrion and Alcmene are genuinely kind and loving adoptive parents, and while Hercules eventually leaves home and learns of his birth parents, he doesn't forget about his adoptive parents (there's a brief shot in "Zero to Hero" that shows they upgraded their house).

One I remember was a couple on their wedding night (the actual names I cant remember at the moment) where the bride is bitten by a venomous snake and dies. He travels down to the underworld and begs for a second chance. Hades says they can have it only if he leads them out never turning back to look and to see if she is there till they are out. Just as they are about to exit though doubt starts to fill his mind, has she been behind me, is she still there and he looks back making eye contact with her and at that moment she is pulled back into the underworld forever feet away from leaving the hell that was the underworld.

While a inaccurate to the source material (Greek Myths). It's still a funny family film. Hades in the myths was one of the nicer gods. Despite being the King/God of the Underworld, that is.
