If there's any transmitters you want me to test, comment here. Not too expensive though. This is my most powerful transmitter and I have no plans to get more at this power level. Also I should say: I do not recommend breaking any rules in your area. Transmitters are legal to own however, as long as you don't use them without a license.

D.i.y broadcasting is popular in Greece because there are no regulations there, people just put the rig together and starts broadcasting!!! There are some crazy guys there with kw stations in FM that can be heard around Italy....

Hi mate What are you using for an antenna? Have a licence for 2kw pep but I'm not able to put any kind of tower in due to site restrictions and it is cost prohibitive for me Have you come across anything simple or perhaps a resonant non earth type antenna (I see there are a few out there but generally will take 400watt max )... any ideas? Good information. On medium wave and broadcast stuff, a little oversimplifying but you never know your audience. I think I have got a please hire someone to do a voiceover for you. Unless you equalize your voice seriously. It is painful to listen to on a handheld device. With my phone connected to my Bluetooth your voice came piercing through my speakers I'm sure it works great for am. But now I suggest please equal out some of that mid-range😮

What percentage more distance will am do compared to fm?

Sorry for the delay. I don't log into this account too often. AM will do way more distance, but only at night. During the day (with a good transmitting antenna), you will notice a similar range to FM. It's hard to give exact numbers on how much farther AM will go at night, but generally it seems to be 25 to 100 times farther. You also should be aware that even though AM will go that much farther, it won't always be solid coverage of that area. You will get fading and static and it may not even get into big distant cities.

The reason that you're able to make that transmitter smaller than this, is it is not designed to test it to the levels that the FCC requires for commercial am transmitter. It may meet the specifications on your test bench. But is the components inside design and such a way that they can be operated 24 hours a day 7 days a week, with varying loading, and very incapacitants as the ground system drifts in relationship to your vertical. Also what kind of actual components do you have as far as when you're talking about 16 kilowatts Peak power how long will it do that much power pink. Most transmitters I've seen that someone is waiting to that high a pep level, will not truly operate at that level very long. Maybe an instantaneous peak. But it's not going to take an average peak. I've used one of these exact transmitters. And yes it will put out a kilowatt of carrier. And it will produce 2.5 times that add up to about $3,000 Watts peak. But only for instantaneous Peaks what it truly generate what you're claiming that it will

Just DON'T get the STMAX 3000 series. It uses a single crappy chip. And don't get PCS AM gear. It's way overpriced for what you get and this Zerc guy is better. My next video will be on lower power AM like 40W.

@@antonio1681 Well it depends if you want stereo or not. I went through in my other video. Don't use stereo if you are in a mountainous place or a place with many large buildings. So get the first one for that. If you are instead, in a flat area with low buildings, then get the second one. If you need to save money though, just get the first one anyway. It'll still be really good if you use an audio processor like innovonics or stereotool on your computer.

@@cosmos180 oh, i thought you meant with antenna. yeah, next time i can play audio into the transmitter when i test it. but just take my word, this transmitter sounds very good and it has a good filter. also phase noise is low cause it has AD9850 DDS.

Some AM transmitters go above 100% modulation. Are you saying that's not true? (cause that's what I read) I know not for FM, but for AM they have positive peak modulation which is considered more than 100%.

Over 100% is called overmodulation, meaning the carrier is suppressed, yes no power output on that time. Once again, I suggest you open a decent book and learn modulation techniques before spreading nonsense. You don't have to believe me, just connect a station monitor/scope through a directional coupler and check your signal.

@@newpatrick8838 Check this page: www.nu9n.com/am.html And search for 130%. It's called positive peak modulation, not overmodulation. Overmodulation would be if you are going over 100% with normal symmetrical modulation, in that case you'd be correct, but that's not what I'm talking about.

@@spectra-man You are confusing things, what this person describes is not far from an old time TV transmission with an artificiality reduced side band and I doubt your transmitter is capable of doing this. Again have a look at the basics eg: www.physics-and-radio-electronics.com/blog/amplitude-modulation/. Measure is the key, check the spectral signal quality once you go over 100% modulation. Don't believe what I write, just measure

many AM commercial broadcasters broadcasters push the limit up to 125% positive modulation. negative is limited to 100 percent. This requires transmitters that are designed to handle the added demands. in Amateur radio this is considered to be an issue as listed below. I never saw much gain from more than 105 percent and it increases the power bill and makes the equipment work harder. This is a very good video....I just wish that anyone...receiver manufacturers, or broadcasters would even try to produce products that would use the full 10Khz capability of those signals and keep AM viable, as it is, it is fading away.
