Xena couldn't finish them.off herself though, she clearly needed help. You can clearly see the concern that her best effort wasn't enough in putting them away. Simple fact is, Hercules has super strength, ain't nobody getting back up from one of his hits

They would have made Herc into a completely ineffective buffoon that needed to be saved by Xena/Gabrielle for three shows straight and then really go into the GRLLLL PWRRRRRRRRR of it all. Fortunately, Xena was about strong female characters but, aside from Joxer, didn't really have to do so at the expense of male characters. And Joxer? Well...

For the title of this video--all the while Iolaus was wounded in the fight and he and Gabrielle connected romantically (while he rested in her lap), albeit briefly, while the titular heroes battled to free Prometheus. Hera needs to be happy for the four instead of fighting Herc! She especially needs to be happy for him!

They had some slick moves on this show and I really liked Hercules' powers of turning that goon into a pile of ash. He might've been a demigod, but he still had powers in some capacity.

That wasn't powers from Hercules. The main ability that Hercules has as a demigod is his godlike strength. The goon only turned to ash because of the sword. The sword was specially designed to cut the chains that imprisoned Prometheus, but doing so would vaporize the wielder, and it isn't limited to the chains that bound Prometheus. Hercules blocked the sword with his gauntlet, but the power of the sword overwhelmed and killed the goon. Striking any metal with that specific sword will kill the wielder.

@@StareachValcin Oh got it. I didn't know that. I hadn't seen this episode and was unaware this was a special sword. Now it makes sense why Xena had two swords (which struck me as odd in the scene).

Hercules also didn't have normal gauntlets, they were forged by a god, I forget which one. He used them to his advantage when fighting gods in other episodes.

Aside from that being the way the scene was written so that everyone did their part right , for the sake of just enjoying the show I always chose to believe that bandits all had some kind of civil pact to let each other have their chance to be the one to have killed Xena/Hercules without interferance, kind of like getting in line at the amusement park to pull the sword from the stone.
