I love seeing when people are passionate about a type of animal and take such good care of so many species.

well, the Japanese people are special kind of spiecies and they do it better than others. first of all, look at how well they treat others and animals, but then do a complete 180 during world war 2 enemies.

I did not know a frog can live 20 years!!! Wow! They are all so different! I am interested in how you became interested in keeping frogs. Thank you for introducing each species. 🙏 for the one who is healing. I think you have a lovely home with these earnest, loved little creatures. It is a very special place.

The toads all have little permanent frowns. The frogs all have little permanent smiles. Wow.
I always love when the grey tree frogs show up in my backyard. They are such cute friendly little guys. The trilling they make in the nearby forest is a wonderful sound.
Thank you for translating this to English. I never knew frogs and toads could look so freaking adorable ♥️♥️

Thank you for the English subtitles!! I wish we could get Miyako toads and Japanese common toads in the United States! I keep lots of frogs too, but toads have always been my favorite. Happy new year!! Edit: Oh I’ve got a Budgett’s frog too! Mine is a boy named Dumpling!

That common rain frog is TOO CUTE I keep cats so I can’t have frogs, I go to videos of them to enjoy their cuteness
I just found your channel and I love toads and frogs. I live in America and have a outdoor frog bog in my garden. I walk by and hear a plonk! now and then. I live near a woods and we get tree frogs, green frogs, lace frogs, and big garden toads; such a joy.
I never knew frogs could be kept as pets and I never knew how cute a frog or toad could be. I especially love the little round ones with those adorable short legs. I believe it is called the common rain frog.

They are surprisingly affectionate little creatures for not being mammals or particularly social in the wild.
I enjoy your videos so much! I havn't seen several of your species of frogs before. I'm in the USA, we had 2 very tiny natural ponds in our back yard. In the spring the "spring peepers" sing so loud and pretty. I love that sound so much! We also have "American toads" they can get very big. I had 6 koi in one of our ponds, but we think the big toads ate them. So I'm to worried to put more out there. We also have cute little frogs called "pickering" I think that's what they are called. They are all wild, but still fun to watch. Thanks for sharing your frogs with us!
@christopherweaver22203 жыл бұрын
Toads or bullfrogs were absolutely not responsible for the loss of your koi. I can assure you of that. I have outdoor fish (in GA) and I'd say it was a heron, a bird of prey (I've seen hawks do it), or raccoons, or a water snake. The best thing you can do is cover the pond with a net in the fall and winter months - which is when the predators are searching the hardest.
@staceydailey63943 жыл бұрын
@@christopherweaver2220 good to know! Thank you for that clarification! I have chickens guineas and turkeys that also use the pond in summer but is don't free range them in winter be Scaife e of the predators. I'm in TN so howdy neighbor! Will the cover bother the critters that use the water in the winter? Should I use a mesh that floats into the water? I should look in more depth into this.

@@morganpriest7726 They could be, couldn't they? Here in Australia we, very occasionally, get plagues of locusts, but when they arrive, they arrive in biblical proportions. And, of course, they eat EVERYTHING, leaving total destruction in their wake. Anyway, the Australian government decided to introduce another species in order to deal with the plagues and that was the Cane Toad, which loves feasting on locusts! The only problem ( LOL!!!) is that now, the Cane Toad has become a MUCH WORSE PEST than the locusts!
@barahng3 жыл бұрын
@@morganpriest7726 Tree frogs just look pretty much the same everywhere, with minor differences. Which makes sense because the same adaptations would presumably work in any forest, green coloration for camoflage, sticky feet for climbing trees, long jump distance for navigating the canopy, and the skin flaps that allow them to sorta glide when jumping. Schlegel's Tree Frog and the Forest Green Tree Frog looks almost identical to the Squirrel Tree Frogs we get in Florida.
@derpychicken21312 жыл бұрын
@@amandajones6481 I think you might be mistaken. Cane toads were introduced to try to control specifically the Cane Beetle, which were destroying crops of cane. The problem was that the cane beetle larval stage dug underground and the adult beetles climbed on top of the cane, so the cane toads couldnt get them, which made them go after everything else and spread across australia.

Really enjoy your frogs and toads, I plan on setting up an enclosure in late spring. Here in Northern Kentucky we have tree frogs in the woods. Last year I did tadpoles for the first time. Loved seeing them turn into frogs, I let them go back to the woods. Thanks for sharing .

Is it safe to do that? I’ve heard if an animal is used to being captive and domesticated, they’ll die if they are released into the wild, because they don’t have the natural instincts anymore to be able to hunt and fend for themselves.
@carrieklette7813 жыл бұрын
@@sweetluvgurl I released them right after they climb out, also it was same land I got the tad poles. Should be safe.
I adore your froggy friends! I live in Arizona US, in the Sonoran Desert. We have Rain Frogs here as well. They sleep underground almost all year and only come outb n the rainy season during the monsoons. They sing and make new froggy babies and go back to sleep. Miyako toads are my favorite followed very closely to the whites tree frog. The miyako toads seem to have a lot of personality.
I'm completely fascinated with these little guys! I love your videos. Could you do one that shows a bigger view of the habitat they live in? It looks so pretty. Also, I'd love to hear the sounds they make. Thank you for showing us these pretty little frogs!
The whites frog has the most interesting skin. It looks like it's wearing a shiny polyurethane diving outfit with oversized gloves. Cool looking critters.
