I love your huge kitchen! I’d like to share something I do quite differently from most carnivores. To reduce a smokey small kitchen, I tried reducing frying/airfrying and explored steaming my meats. With the right timing, everything is juicier and more tender. And the nutrient integrity is more intact without excessive heat, and… the fat oils dont get wringed out and wasted. And oh my… the clean up is so quick! Now I mostly steam… including porkbelly, and bacon, and ribeye! Dont let precious fat wring out so the 20-80 ratio stays on the good stuff! It is so quick to steam too. (And Yesterday I made a clear pepper pork belly soup (slowcook 2 hours) and oh my yum… pure juicy tender velvety meal. bye bye cleaning oil out of pans for me coz it is all in my bowl or plate, then tummy.) bye bye oily kitchen. I hope you will try it these juicy versions.

Do you sear after you steam?
@leannet38543 ай бұрын
@@cathiemcginnis3997 oh… infact i sometimes part steam, then part sear/airfry… this way, it is still more moist. just experiment to your preference. But watch the timing… I usually set the timer on my iphone. To ensure I get the timing right for steaming, I prepare boiled steaming hot water in the cooker before starting my countdown and putting in the meat. Especially with ribeye… around 8 minutes is perfect… dont let it turn overcooked then it is wasted. Fish too. (For chicken and pork, it is a lot more forgiving with time runs.)

Hi Mitch. I could not have dialed in and keep it dialed in my journey to optimal health if it were not for the carnivore community. Three years ago I was lost in not believing what I was being told by the world that I lived in and I felt lost. Today I have a foundation that leads to many good things. I have the strength to move in a much healthier happier direction in my life. I could not have done this without being around like minded people. Thank you so much for the community that you have brought together.

I have started cooking my bacon in the air fryer. I cut 8oz in half and put a single layer in the basket and cook at 400 till how I like it. I can’t help but snack on the first batch while the second cooks. While the grease is hot I put it through a strainer into a can. The fryer makes the best bacon and no spattering mess to clean up.

Great point regarding understanding carbohydrate addiction. Even for those not addicted to carbohydrates, it is very helpful to understand how carbohydrates affect our bodies. I learned the effects since I began my journey with intermittent fasting, so I reasoned early in my carnivore journey that even if I consume carbs during the day, to consume them in the same way I used to when intermittent fasting. IE: If I plan on consuming carbs for the day, I start my day off my eating a carnivore breakfast(if I even eat breakfast), and save the carbs for later in the day in order to maximize the amount of time that I am fasted or in ketosis. That is the main goal whether you are fasting or on a carnivore diet.
