There's something I'll never understand in these .exe games. If there's supposedly a demon in the Sonic game, how are they editing the sprites and the code to such a degree ? Because the demon wouldn't control Sonic and start controlling him and make different expressions with his face and stuff. That's not how video games work. For something to appear on screen, you need a sprite for it. If they have access to a sprite maker on your computer, maybe they could change the sprites of the game. But since in the creepypasta the character starts the game right after putting it into the computer, when could they have done that ? Ah maybe while the previous owner of the disk was away. The entity could probably edit the code itself if it knows about coding since it's inside the game. The code what makes the game what it is, and apparently it has full control over the game. So maybe it could make new sprites and add them into the game, and code the cutscenes and stages that we see here, but the entity cannot be controlling Sonic and move around in the world actually killing its characters. Well it can probably start the game and move Sonic around since its the playable character, but since it made Tails, Knuckles and Eggman the playable characters, that doesn't apply anymore. Basically, if you try to make sense of this, the entity isn't controlling Sonic, it controls the entire game and modified it to make Sonic look like this and kill his friends in these cutscenes. Apparently, it also had access to a music composing app since there's custom music in there. I mean sprite creation, animation, coding and music composition ? Wow. I know it's probably evil, but I can't help but respect that level of talent. And I guess it could make sense for this entity to be able to do all these things. Maybe it's a Sega employee that worked on this PC port but an accident happened and they died, having their soul trapped in the disk. That's how these kind of stories usually go, right ? It would explain why the entity knows the code so well and can modify it so efficiently. I mean it modified the game pretty heavily, and yet there's no visible glitches at all. Okay so basically the entity isn't controlling Sonic, it's controlling the entire game and edited it to make this. Maybe it actually wants to escape, or maybe it was just bored so it made this after being trapped in there for god knows how long. I think my theory is a good way to try and have this game make some sense, but I'm probably looking too deep into this (but it's fun to do so, you know ^^')

you are definitely looking too deep into this, but I heard a theory (or headcanon or alt version or whatever) that sonic acts this way (and looks etc.) because the game got corrupted, this could explain couple things

The fact that the game would be corrupted would explain nothing. Have you never watched Vinesauce ? Corrupted games are a nonsensical mess. There's no way that a game getting corrupted would give this kind of result.

The story behind sonic.exe is that sonic.exe (or X) was a creature that was created in the void, and in the void it wandered around until it saw a window to both the human world and sonic’s world. And it became fascinated with the blue hedgehog, so it made it’s own world based around sonic’s. And also took the form of sonic as well, X apparently has a cult that worships him too according to the sequel of the creepypasta and the cult makes discs that should of act as a portal to X’s realm. X also kills people that happen to come across one of the discs and brings them into his world, turning their soul into a sonic character. Hope this helps, if not, go to the wiki.

I know this video is like a month old, but I just noticed something; Tails's name changes into Alan on the second stage, Knuckles's name changes to Dave when he is confronting/punching the Sonic.exe "fakes", and Dr.R (Robotnik)'s name changes to Paul when the walls turn red. From what i know about the lore for the og Sonic.exe, he was a seperate entity from Sonic, and he kills everyone who doesnt like Sonic. But this brings up questions like "why did he kill Tails?" and "why did he kill the critters?" Though this could just be explained by saying that Sonic.exe makes no sense, story and character. Edit: X killing people who hate Sonic is misinfo, I don't know where the person who said that got it from.
