Hi Taylor, I like Bobby am a retired Corporate Pilot. Also a very experienced aircraft mechanic. My wife and I have over 5000 nm under our keel. I loved this episode! You do what in our old age takes both of us 2 to do! Good on ya! A few years ago there was this sailing family. A wife and mother to a young daughter living on a sailboat. We were in Marathon at Boot Key Harbor. A terrible thing happened. The wife went to check something in the engine compartment. She, like you had long beautiful hair. She got a bit to close to the fan belt and it grabbed her hair and tore 3/4 of her scalp off in an instant. Coast Guard flight to the Miami hospital and a recovery best imagined. In this episode you removed your engine panels and had a look about while your engine was running. Just suggesting a personal note stapled to your engine doors to put your hair up in a bun before risking such an event. Leave this up if it helps you and your followers. Also, remove it if you think it is not good for your channel. Either way, the only reason I say this is to suggest to a fellow sailor how to be a bit safer.

Your post just goes to show how careful one must be around machinery. Any loose clothing can also get caught-up in a fan belt with similar results.

Retired 32 years as an engineer in the American Merchant Marines sailing large container ships. In my years after graduation I was lucky myself and grew rather vigilant (safe) later but saw a few accidents around rotating machinery. The hair is easy to forget and get yourself some ear protection. Some day you may find yourself having to work a period of time while the engine runs. But I love your stuff. Thanks.

Being that I’m a old lady I’ve experienced a lot of good and bad things along the way. One thing you need to do is pin your long hair up before doing any kind of work. Bending down with belts, pulleys, and many moving parts could end up with hair hopelessly wrapped up in one or more moving parts. Being alone it could mean your life! I’ve had it happen more than once and thankfully I wasn’t alone except the time I caught my long hair on fire soldering plumbing pipes. Thankfully not all the water was shut off so I only lost 1/3 of one side of my hair and didn’t have any burnt skin. Lesson learned the hard way. I was always just wanting to get job done not thinking of safety. Beautiful boat and love your channel. Stay well.

Titusville is where all the Kennedy Space Center workers live and KSC is just a mile away on the opposite side (east) of the river she was on. The double draw bridge she went through is the main highway to the base as well as the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station where all the original Mercury and Gemini rockets launched from. The original Tarzan had a theme park there in the 50’s. Titusville used to be the winter home of the Canadian PGA (Royal Oak) which I suppose gives it a connection to her home country.

I gotta admit i was dubious about your Vlog. there are just so many of these kind of vlogs now and generally the people who produce them are beautiful, wealthy, super annoying and make me sick. you are certainly beautiful but also certainly not annoying. quite the opposite. im pleased to have found a new friend who can take me on some trips that relive the tedium of being stuck here. thanks taylor. pleased to meet you. ;)
