Gotta say dude, finding this channel has been super refreshing. It's a bit lonely sometimes being a male reader. None of my buddies read, yet literally all of my wife's friends read constantly and talk about books nonstop. Literally all of my Goodreads friends are female lol. Anyways, just wanted to share that. Cool finding a fellow bro with similar tastes in books. Glad to have stumbled upon you.

Hey man! I read too! Also, something I like about this channel is Nick just kinda talks about the stoke of reading. He's not an optimization bro trying to tell you how to be more of an alpha by reading 1000 books a year.

The thing I really love about your videos is the authenticity. The fact you rarely ever cut anything and that the videos don’t have a super set structure makes it feel like I’m just listening in on a conversation. I absolutely love it!

OMG, I loved your comments on tomato chips (never heard of them) and milk packaging. My mum was Canadian and I spent many summers in Ottawa and at Blue Sea Lake. I don't remember the milk, but there were bags of white margarine (or butter?) that came with their own packets of yellow dye, and we kids loved squishing the bags to mix in the color.

I like it. You found a useful way for Moby Dick as a Monitor Stand:-) Your monstera on your desk doesn't have a single whole in their leaves, that's a sign that something bothers her. Those bookshelves are the only one from IKEA I would buy myself. They look great. I had the same VHS player, I still found old VHS tapes in my basement whenever I get finally rid of my stuff. Just found some Star Trek Voyager tapes, only 4 Episodes on one tape! I would love to play VHS but only on big screen and i think the connection would be tricky and founding a VHS player used which isnt almost broken:-) your room gives me some 80 Vibes I know there an iMac but all the other staff is just retro style in a very pleasing way.

Ketchup chips… I would absolutely try them. As a kid I put ketchup on my plain chips, so they sound yummy. I’ve had milk from a plastic jug, cardboard carton and glass bottle, but never from a bag. Interesting! I love your office! I call my office the Rabbit Room. If you’re familiar with the Inklings, then you know. I have a desk, chair, couch and books. No room for anything else. I went on a King search last year and bought every Stephen King book I could find. There are only four I couldn’t get because of rarity or cost. It’s a sweet collection, but not quite as front and center as yours. I love your authenticity and style. Thanks for making great videos. Even when you’re out of breath.

Oh and I didn't see The passage by Justin Cronin in your shelves (or am I blind haha), I am currently reading it and I think you will really enjoy it, it suits your vibes I think! It's officially a first of a trilogy and I am very curious for the continuation, even tho I don't really hear stuff about books 2 and 3 lol. It's like a dystiopian story about an apocalypse with creatures that feel like (chemically made) zombies, but sometimes they are called vampires, but I don't agree with that word choice haha

I am also someone who just started reading again later in life and over the last year or so have been on a very similar journey you describe for yourself. Harry Potter was what made me get back into reading though so I think you should try them. It’s not just a kids series at all the characters are great
@wheelz13258 ай бұрын
I never read read the Harry Potter series when I was younger, which is funny because I was of that age right when they first came out. I didn't read them until I was in my thirties. Just finished the 6th book last night. I took a break from reading them after finishing the Goblet of Fire, because I absolutely hated it! I considered not finishing the series because I hated it that much. But then I read Order of the Phoenix, and really liked it. I just finished the half-blooded prince last night. All and all a pretty good series. Nothing too surprising or wow moments. But then again that's probably more me being in my thirties, then it has to do with the actual book. but I would still recommend it.
