Yes, I did decide to accept a PO from Agero. I did it for you guys and gals, so you could see how they pick and chose what they pay. This is the reason why I no longer take PO's from certain clubs.
You can clearly see that the representative does not really have an answer on why I was shorted $200.

They will gladly pay a non agero provider ridiculous money via credit card when they can’t find anyone else. I drove from queens to Brewster for a 3 mile tow for 640 dollars prepaid by them. Tolls $125 to hook 4 dollars a mile almost 60 miles in route and the drive back and I believe we gave them a $40-50 break. because nobody was available and they were desperate. Agero gotta love em 🤦‍♂️ they will pay that but wouldn’t give a local company 100 bux smh.

They are ass backwards. I am out of Network now. They have been calling with Credit Cards non stop and paying so much better. I moved a box truck the other night for them 8 miles for $800. A contracted provider would of maybe got $200.

Doing motor club rates are good for volume and trying to retain them as further customers. They by a different brand car and it’s a different motor club, but they call you and submit the bill because they now know your reliable. Think about all the jump starts you did and billed and got paid for a tow? Sometimes it evens out. Don’t kill yourself trying to get every invoice paid in full

I really push my retail side of things. When a club does call I price above retail with a fast ETA. You win some, you lose some. But you make the same amount of money , if not more, and run your truck less. I did a club call this morning with a CC over the phone. If I was to take that call on a PO at contracted rates, I would of had to send my truck out 3 times to make the same money as the call I took on CC at above retail rates.

Not entirely, Some do, A fair bit don't, you have police rotation, and customers to your shop, I could probably keep 1 or 2 trucks busy making a good paycheck just from police rotation and our customers, as well as any shops we do work for, but I don't only run 2 trucks so we don't only do that, In addition to that you can still go through motor clubs but as a non contracted provider, You call them up say "hey here are my rates you can make them my contracted rates and I will sign on or you can call me if you need me and i'll take a credit card" some companies you will be able to get pretty decent rates for a motor club, others will not accept it but will usually call you 1/10 times because they can't find any contracted provider to run said call and they will happily pay your rates with a credit card, The idea is to not grow too fast to need motor clubs to keep busy, If you can keep 1 or 2 trucks busy with non contracted motor clubs, police rotation, shops, and your customers that is the way you want to keep it, if you add more trucks you will likely need to take on more contracted work through motor clubs or auto auction services like copart, but you can have some room for negotiation or just doing non contracted work if you don't over commit with buying too many trucks, Right now i'm negotiating with copart because I have a few trucks to offer them and they called me needing more haulers, So i shot them a figure of 12-15 dollars higher per car than what their first rate sheet showed me, they started at 56 per car in our area, I'm shooting for about 70 per car for our zone, and 12-15 more for every other zone (every 10 or so miles is a zone higher, 1 being lowest and going up), but we don't need copart, we never have so we can negotiate and worst they can do is say no and we will go on our way.

What’s a motor club?
@towtruckaj
@towtruckaj 5 жыл бұрын
A motor club is a company that offers towing services through sub contractors or a mixture of their own trucks and sub contractors, Such as AAA, AAA does have their own trucks (which suck mind you) but they do a lot of their work through sub contractors, for example, you break down, you call AAA because you have basic membership, you get 5 miles covered by your membership, they send out a tow truck, It's not usually going to be a AAA truck although it could be it will most likely be a sub contractor, billys towing for example shows up, so you called AAA they sent billys towing, billys towing tows you, your 5 miles, AAA pays billys towing their contracted rates, And that is a motor club, Its a club of people who sign up for memberships for road side assistance and towing companies like this guys or mine, or any other towing company can sign up for contracted rates through these motor clubs to run calls for them, usually we get paid pennies on the dollar but we get higher call volume, So where as we might charge 75 to load and 3.50 a mile (my rates) they might pay 30 to load and 1 dollar a mile or something way lower but they will give you calls all day long because they have a much larger customer database than us. Some examples of motor clubs are AAA, Agero, Allstate, Geico, Swoop, etc, A lot of major insurance companies will offer roadside assistance through a motor club.

I feel for you brother, and I also feel for all the other tow brothers who are out there trying to make it, and are enticed by the motor club bug....its easy to get hooked on that crack. I used to do almost every conceivable motor club there was (cept AAA, wont ever touch that)….I too concentrate on the retail and what I call the ''commercial'' side (contracted repair shops, car dealerships, etc). Yes, you lose some volume when you dump the motor clubs, but after some time passes, they all come calling when their regular club contractors cant or wont handle their calls, and you get them to pay over the phone with a credit card.

Yes I own a towing company here in Florida and we have been in business for 6 years and and I do work with some motor clubs and I have to deal with this every single day and I swear I have tried so many times with google ads and invested so much and no results and got into Copart and did not go well we only did two tows and it was $84 for both and the headache for my driver and my self is not worth it. I only need tow calls now more cash I have mailed out on usps but that did not help. I have free google verified but not to much out of that, any advice you can give me ? Stay safe in the cold 🥶

I already commented under my other you tube channel, but I thought i'd visit under my towing channel and ''like'' and ''comment''.....not only cuz you deserve it but to re-state and again agree with you that we as ''towers'' need to make sure we don't let these roadside middlemen motor clubs don't take advantage of us, keep them in check, and learn to work within the framework that exists to make a profit working with these motor clubs. It CAN be done, and yes they are frustrating but we CAN make a profit doing their calls. Just as tow co. owners we cant put all of our eggs in their basket. Be safe out there and have a profitable day!
