I have the same model, w/a 5 speed too, same color as well. Mine does have a sunroof. I knew about everything you mentioned other then the seats folding upward after folding flat. New to me. I'll have to go try mine out. Love my car. Had it for 15 years and has never left me stranded. I just hit 100,000 miles a month or so ago. My hubby wants me to get a bigger car, I told him I'll rent one if needed. In the 15 years I've owned my Rav4 we had to rent one once, due to taking a family to Disneyland and I didn't want to put the extra miles on my Rav4. Love this little car. I have had nothing done to it other then batteries, tires, sparkplugs and just recently I put in new shocks and struts or whatever they are called. Best car ever and it's been paid for, for many years, affordable to drive and insure. Thanks for the video, it is informative. As long as I have heat and A/C I'll keep driving it.

I have the exact same Rav4. I bought it back in 2007. I have 317K miles on mine. It is also a stick shift. I had the alternator replaced on it about 1.5 years ago. It has a small oil leak and has a evap gas seal leak. Replaced the gas cap twice. If I lived in a big city that required emissions testing, I would fail it. I live in the country so I don't worry when the check engine light is on. My check spare tire light comes on all the time. I don't worry about that either. I know my car pretty well. I have removed the back seats because we have dogs and go to the beach alot and it is great. The past nearly 6 years I put nearly 600 miles a week on it. Highway miles. The road noise is bad. How I dealt with it? I had XM satellite radio kit installed, use head phones or turn on the AC or heater. It will drown out the noise some. I am looking for maybe a trade up in 2020 but may get cold feet. Used Rav4's are so dang expensive. A couple of days ago, I dealer sent me an offer for 2600 cash for it. I passed. I may get cold feet and just hang on to it until I die :)

Well after nearly 320k miles, I traded in my old 2004 Rav4 for a 24k miles, one owner, leased, pristine condition 2017 Toyota Rav4 in super white with black interior. It is the XLE. Love it so far. The dealership said my old Rav will either go to auction or scrap yard. I wanted to switch out the tires on my old rav because they were practically new but wouldn't fit on my new one. I love having a sunroof again. All my cars prior to my last Rav had them.

I have the same car with approximately the same mileage. Still runs very well with no issues. Ruts and road unevenness sound rather loud, but have been quelled to reasonable levels by thick mats and new tires. All in all a reliable daily runner with a lively engine. Can’t expect more from an eighteen year old vehicle. BTW, I blacked out the area that had peeled away on the A/C button with an ordinary black marker. It looks better now

Apparently you're unaware of the piston ring issue that plagued the 2.4 which wasn't addressed until after 2007. Many of these motors burned oil excessively once the miles accumulated on the odometer. The previous 2.0 was a more durable motor. We have a 2002 as a backup car with over 300k miles and still going strong.

Hi, I'm from Argentina and I have the same truck that is in the video, the toyota rav4 got it from my father in one of his jobs, my father in 2014 in August more or less he went to a city in the province of Santa Cruz. Argentina called Las Heras he does work related to the durlock or cold wall the work he did in a bank there and the head of the place gave him that truck is an automatic 4x4 Persian blue color and it is from 2004 and what happened with the truck he left from walking because the automatic gearbox broke the engine works fine but there are a lot of blows on the truck so I have an interesting job as a mechanic I would like to fix it and keep it for me because my father has another car that he got in another job and is a Chevrolet / opel Vectra is from 2006 and it goes a bit like the eye because that car was my aunt and I stopped using it because in the province of Neuquén it is very difficult and risky to drive a car with very narrow streets and there are also train tracks more difficult still but hey he has his car and his workshop when I can get my driving license I'm going to use that truck already fixed and restored the truck so I'm going to have to finish high school and help my father to fix that truck

Yes. One tends to press the accelerator further. This results in a sudden, unwanted burst of speed when the engine catches up. It has taken me time to adjust to this quirk, and that not entirely, even now

Some people are talking about bad sound insolation in this car.Is that true?
@Cahlager
@Cahlager 5 жыл бұрын
I dont recall exactly how well insulated the vehicle was from outside noise. I could understand if it wasnt too well insulated. As these cars were sold as very affordable vehicles, and better sound insulation would lead to a higher cost.

@bro_nobro
@bro_nobro Жыл бұрын
Note to add, the ECM issue only affected the automatic transmissions, the 2003 manual gen2 rav4 was bulletproof. I greatly prefer the 2.0 engine 1FE over the 2.4 2FE. The added size adds weight and power which more or less cancels each other out in performance other than raw torque. The only thing you have to do when you get a gen2 is to check the head bolts, they can strip the aluminium in the block overtime and cause coolant leaks. Check that, check the oil and keep up with maintenance and the rav4 will run forever.

My hubby is 6.1 and fits, he does have to duck his head while getting in. I load my car up all the time with 5 people. Just love the cargo space. My sister in law needed me to take her moms wheel chair to a location as it wouldn't fit in her Nissan. Not only did it fit in my Rav4 I didn't have to fold the wheelchair down. It fit right in the back no issue. She went and got a newer car w/more cargo room after seeing how spacious mine was.
