This is where having a good secondary comes in. Graham is ranked 2nd in pressure % since '10 - only behind Aaron Donald. If Epps had wrapped his arms instead of foolishly just throwing his shoulder in there to bring down CMC the play would've resulted in a no gain and more than likely would've forced the Niners to attempt a FG. As an Eagles fan that play was infuriating because it NEVER should've resulted in a TD. The Eagles DL owned the LOS and the Niners wouldn't have won the game even if Purdy didn't get hurt on a Reddick strip sack. The Niners QB's got hurt because their OL was overwhelmed and it was their downfall. You didn't see Jalen getting hit like that. It really broke my heart that people say the Eagles only won bc Purdy was out. As if it wasn’t because of that Eagles Defensive Line that he got knocked out of the game in the first place. Another excuse that people used that made me upset was the excuse that the Niners could only run the ball. In a way it’s valid, but I’ve also seen the Eagles DESTROY teams by ONLY running the ball and everyone including the other team KNEW what was coming and they could do a damn thing about it. That is the mark of a truly dangerous team. The Eagles won that game fair and square. They earned that victory like all their other victories. And the times they lost, well the other team earned that win. Give the Eagles their props. They are legit. KC should be on high alert. But sadly I don’t think it’ll matter, the Eagles are just too good. They were the most consistent team this year and I think that’s ultimately why they’re so damn dangerous. They execute at a high level and they do it over and over and over again.

@@shootthechit Yes, of course it had an effect, that’s not the point I was trying to make. The point I was trying to make is that the Eagles defense won that game. They ran the ball for almost the entirety of the second half and the Niners knew they were running the ball and you know what? They couldn’t do jack shit about it because the Eagles proved that they are just better than them. Stronger than them. More disciplined then them. Give them their props.

I don't think anyone in the league respects JJ as a passer and once he was gone all the Eagles had to do was play the run. Congrats to the Eagles to making it to the bowl but the football gods robbed us of a really good match up. Hopefully we can run it back next year.
@rosskramer5296 Жыл бұрын
I agree. Unfortuantely, the players play and the coaches put them in position. And Kyle Shannahan put the 49ers in a losing position with his bad schemes (a TE against Reddik??). And worse than that, after Purdy got knocked out, Shanahan made no adjustments and then JJ got knocked out. As an Eagles fan, I was robbed of seeing a good game. But the 49ers lost due to bad coaching, just as the Eagle won due to good coaching (and better schemes).

@Ross Kramer I see alot of saying it's Kyle's fault (mostly 49er fans) Purdy got hurt because of bad scheme. Here's my thing.. if it's a bad scheme when your Qb gets injured then it's a bad scheme when it worked the other 50 times we ran it. You can't have it both ways when we've been running that playaction all year and the TE makes the block. Idk how people call Kyle a genius because his runs and passes look the exact same but in the same breath say his scheme is bad because Reddick made a play and the Qb got hurt. Brocks injury was a freak accident I've seen plenty of Qbs get their arm hit while throwing that didn't result in a ligament tear in the elbow. I'm not sure what adjustments you wanted him to make with the 4th string Qb. He literally fumbled a snap that gave the Eagles 7 points before half.

@@Nvme18 Niners were running play action on teams successfully but none of them had 4 d lineman with double digit sacks. Reddick is probably the fastest edge rusher in the league. Shanahan and the OC should have been able to see that from film sessions. The eagles had 70 sacks during the regular season. I guarantee Reid won't have Reddick singled up on a TE. One on one with a starting TE is a mismatch let alone a back up. McGlinchy was outmatched as well. Purdy would have been battered had he played the whole game.

Other fans been sleeping on Eagles defense. Ok, Brandon Graham is having his best year of his career right now. At least in a stat perspective. Maddox has been a dawg. He was missed being out. CGJ also being back is huge, another dawg. The best tackling DBs on the team. At least the most willing. FlyEaglesFly !!! Great video.

If the Chiefs WR's don't get healthier by the SB then you're just going to see a repeat of this asswhooping. I didn't see the 49ers beating the Eagles and said it looked like it was going to be a blowout. I don't think if Purdy played the whole game or not mattered. After seeing Dallas defense clamp them down the way they did with the 49ers biggest offensive plays being penalties and that illegal play to Kittles. I was like the Eagles have 3 good corners and 2 fast linebackers, their going to smother this offense.

i’m actually terrified for Mahomes’ ankle. if the Eagles defensive line is able to repeat the performance they had here, Mahomes gonna need a lot of injections to stay in the game. Fortunately for KC, i think they have better pass pro than the Niners. but it’s impossible to match up against this defensive front.
@34blackula Жыл бұрын
@@AniSage Yeah plus you just don't want to blitz Mahomes too often either. If Kadarius Toney is good to go then that will definitely slow down the Eagles a little. Kid is crazy talented and will be a beast next year with a full offseason in that offense.

@@34blackula we have one of the lower blitz rates in the entire league so that shouldn’t be an issue

@@AniSage True but sooner or later everyone has to blitz Mahomes. He gets the ball out too fast and if he starts moving around then you're really fucked. Let's face it, you guys didn't sit back and just wait on the 49ers to do their thing. That's the best way to stop a read option team, blitz their asses and light up that QB.
@AniSage Жыл бұрын
@@34blackula our 4-5 pass rushers have been so dominant that we don’t have to blitz. our front goes right into the backfield while everyone else keeps the play in front of them. we got more aggressive when it became apparent the 49ers were gonna be physically unable to pass the ball. we were able to sit on the run the entire 2nd half without fear of getting burned deep. of course, you can’t just run the same thing against mahomes, you have to continually vary it up and give him new looks and wrinkles off those looks.

Hassan Riddick low key the best player in the league this year. Hear me out the guy seriously dominated other teams O line. So many times we got short field advantage because of his way to get to the QB and cause turnovers. I've haven't seen A line yet this year be able to block him other then Washington

Good analysis, its kind of difficult to evaluate as the game was essentially over after Purdy went down. Shanahan should have challenged the non catch as it likely would have changed the game. You expect more from a coach who has been in that position numerous times already. Also why isn’t Reddick being doubled the majority of the game…

The problem is SF is a second half adjustment team this year. Would’ve loved to see how Kyle would’ve adjusted to what he seen in the first half, but they lost the ability to throw. Eagles did what they needed to do to assure the Niners couldn’t comeback.
@cvn6555 Жыл бұрын
They never let up, never slowed down, never stopped trying to dominate. I was at the Giants playoff game and both sides of the ball never let off the gas. Just kept hitting as hard as they can. This is not a team that is likely to collapse and let a big comeback happen against them.
