I understand. I want my mother to try different lifestyle changes and it is so difficult to see her not doing everything to preserve her health. I feel like I am in a battle every day. I will say that when I look back at the 1.5 years I have been doing this there are some changes that she has made. I continue to talk, explain etc.

Wait, is he or isn't he eating the mushrooms? How is he doing now? You should also look into moderate doses of lithium. That supposedly can arrest early Alzheimer's.

I also should have mentioned in an earlier reply that there is a lot that my mother won't do in regards to her health. I still find small simple ways that I think will help. I am working on lowering her inflammation by giving her a little blueberry juice and a low cadmium version of raw cacao with a lot of antioxidants. I am also working on vitamin deficiencies like vitamin d and magnesium. Small things that she does not seem to notice and reject.

Provides very little information about the diet they adopted. Why were they reluctant to report the actual diet these patients went on? There was some mention of eliminating red meat and not eating a bucket of fried chicken and one patient eating beans and rice and potatoes, but really what diet are these doctors recommending? Seems to me like an incomplete report.

There are a lot of different dietary factors in Bredesen's approach. It's also going to depend on what subtype of Alzheimer's you have and what you'll focus on at the beginning. I'm not going to be able to give a complete picture here, so I'd pick up his book, or look for some of the more extensive interviews on youtube, but here are some of the ideas. Cutting out refined carbs and sugar is essential. Healthy fats with high Omega 3s are important; if you have red meat, grass finished is the way to go. No trans fats. Eat healthy greens, cruciferous vegetables, cook with oils with higher burn temp: Avocado/palm, coconut. Don't overcook/damage your food. Fermented vegetables, certain herbs, etc can also be helpful. And Bredesen recommends a ketoflex approach. Avoid eating three hours before bedtime. There are also a lot of other lifestyle factors at play. Good sleep, exercise, treating sleep apnea, etc. Treat and heal gut problems. All these factors are interconnected, and Bredesen argues they all play a role in how amyloid precursor protein (APP, a dependence receptor in neurons in the brain) is cut. If it's cut the bad way, it creates amyloid beta and three other bad peptides. (I just made a video about this that goes over it in greater detail.) I hope that helps!

Well planned ketogenic diet rich in omega 3 wild fatty fish and saturated fats from natural sources. Meats should be pastured and frass fed/finished-- but if yiu cant affird it dont lwt it stop yoy! Ps you do t want fried kfc type chicken as its fried usually in polyunsaturated fats that break down easily and cause oxidative stress from reactive oxygen specied. The only type of polyunsaturated oils are ok is the omega 3 and it is very fragile so the freshes fish is best. If capsule, you need to trust the source. I do keto 3 years now and its helped my brain fog immensely. Not dementia, but lowering insulin resistance to prevent diabetes, high blood pressure reducing heart disease is immense! Most cancer also likes sugar! Good luck! I have a facebook group "keto for chronic disease management" if you'd like resources and community! 🙏🤗

5 ways to build an Alzheimer’s-resistant brain ---- - Get enough sleep - Diet or rather Mediterranean Diet Eat colorful foods - Exercise such as Brisk walk for 30 mins 5 times a week -Avoid chronic stress. Constantly high cortisol levels are bad. - Learning new things => building cognitive reserves which are redundant neural connections which allow dancing around the gunked up connections the 5 work as well as any pills. Just do them.

There are videos on KZbin suggesting that using Methylene Blue appears to restore some level of cognitive abilities. There are also videos in which some foctors state that cutting cholesterol from the body (e.g. through the use of statins or diets without sufficient healthy fat) contributes to Alzheimer's and Dementia. Cholesterol is an important part of our bodies health. Another contributing factor is said to be cutting out salt from one's diet. Without salt, the body cannot create electrical connections between cells - it's like a discharged battery. This contributes to both poor health and difficulty in cognitive abilities.
