The British moved out and decided to give control of the area to two separate government entities one was Israel and one was Arab. The Arabs attacked the Jewish areas when the British moved out. Only after the Arabs all attacked in their promise to kill all the Jews did Israel - upon defeating the Arabs - have control of and lay claim to the land that became the recognized borders of Israel in 1949. By twisting that into the Jews laying claims to that land initially, you give legitimacy to the Arab genocidal intent. (Never mind your omission of the continuous presence of Jews in the land and the fact that the Arabs had been there "for generations" because the Ottoman Arabs COLONIZED the Jewish land.)
