I inquired about the TECNIS Eyhance™ monofocal lens from my eye doctor, and he said that he is only using Alcon IOLs. What is the equivalent of TECNIS Eyhance to Alcon IOLs?

No other company has a monofocal lens as good as the eyhance in my opinion. Alcon has great lenses like the vivity lens but when it comes to monofocal lenses eyhance is the best

Multifocal lens means you will be able to see for far and near without glasses. Hydrphobic IOL is the name of the material. It is the better material from which lenses are made.

My right eye cataract operated and fitted with J&J hyance monofocal lens. I am planning to do for my left eye also. Can I opt for Alcon Vivity monofocal lens for my lefy eye. Please clarify my doubt Sir.

We think its best to do the Eyhance in the other eye too. However, your doctor would be the best judge of this.

@@eyesolutions9696 doctor advised me for ehyance lens for my left eye also and your correct suggestion helped me a lot. Aravind Eye Hospital in Tamil Nadu is a leading eye hospital and they have separate block to perfom 'free operation' to the poor people. For payment categories the charges are nominal and reasonable when compared to other private hospitals and they charge only half of the amount than other hospitals. This is only my experience of my cataract surgery at Aravind Eye Hospital and nothing else.

Isn’t it trifocal lens is the same as multifocal?

No Elmo, it is slightly different. A multifocal lens gives you both far as well as near vision. Trifocal on the other hand helps with intermediate vision also, or the computer viewing distance.

No there is no real permanent remedy to get rid of floaters. Its important to learn to try and ignore them.

Hi doctor, we had implemented multifocal lense in my mother eye and she has retina problem as well . But doctor didn’t mention anything that she can not have it . Now her distance vision is extreme worse . Could you please advise further on this .

Dear Kajol, apologies for the late reply. If the vision is very bad, only then can one attempt to do a lens exchange. Glasses are not a problem and its not a bad thing. Unfortunately, people think if one wears glasses their eyes have gone bad. That being said if a practice is pushing hard for patients to get a procedure called Lasik, which gets rid of your glasses and doctors in that practice wear glasses then yes it is sceptical.

These lens replacements are mainly for cataract replacement. Perhaps he doesn’t have cataracts yet.
