Dave and Kathy, one of the best features of the Model Y and newer Model 3’s is the “heat pump”. It provides great HVAC and conserves energy. Probably better than the Lucid, without a heat pump.😮

And just an fyi…it has a chill mode and a standard mode . I btw love ❤️ NAPLES…went there for the first time in FEB. 1980 and again in 1991…I see why it has grown so much 💚💚💚

Polestar 2 with is the black grill was nicer though. However, the four-wheel drive version had a higher power consumption. According to some Testers. but those tests were done in colder climates

Cushy, comfy seats are great and she clearly loves her Tesla. However, it's a pity that Tesla doesn't care about the niceties like cooled and massaging seats, a HUD, (small) driver screen, air suspension, configurable RGB lighting, or powered frunk. While most of those are available aftermarket, it would be nice if they were all at least optional. Interesting point about the buttons. I find that to be the case with both of my current vehicles as well that have duplicate physical and on-screen HVAC controls. I almost never use the buttons. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I just installed the Hansshow 5.2' drive sceen on my 22 model 3 LR. It looks like it came from Tesla OEM . It looks great. No software update needed. It has all the information you need .The instalation was a breeze on the model 3 with the AMD Ryzen processor.

Sweet! My first Tesla, a new Austin built 2023 Model Y LR (tentatively named Perl) is awaiting me at a showroom. This weekend I'm hitching a ride to Georgia to collect her and drive her back to sweet home Alabama. Like with every other big purchase, I am going through a mild "buyer's remorse" stage, but as I watched your vids, especially this last one, I've felt any trepidations melt away. Thanks for the vid!

No remorse with Tesla. I had the same concerns back in 2014 while awaiting delivery of my Model S, but once I drove it and saw that the battery gauge moves about the same as a typical gas gauge, all was good.

@@garybean2205 the Luddites running the state government notwithstanding, Alabama has some positives. Unfortunately, Alabama trails even behind Mississippi with respect to EVs and especially Teslas. It is not Tesla's fault that Alabama completely blocks Tesla from having showrooms and service centers in the state, especially when there are Tesla srsc in each of the four adjacent states. I do look forward to the day we get a Tesla service center within 50 miles of home, but in the meanwhile, I'll have to hope that Perl's maintenance will be minimal, or at least 'norminal'.

@@slowercuber7767 thanks for the kind words. I bought the cheapest model they had. It was the 60kWh with no options, not even supercharging. My 8-year old Pontiac G8 GT was paid off and sold for $20K. Between putting that $20K down, no sales tax on EVs in my state and the $7500 federal tax credit, it was surprisingly affordable.

From my experience at superchargers, if you back up until your rear tires hit the bumper thing on the ground, you’re where you need to be. That’s why they put them there. They are placed precisely.

If they are the smaller size of curb stops. I've scratched the bottom of my Y on a concrete stop. That happened at a different location than a Tesla charger.

There are acceleration settings such as Chill and Standard. And there are slightly different settings for generation as well

Great review from a driver's POV. I'm glad that they fix the suspension on the MY, I would like to know how the right is from the backseat I felt that it was kidney jarring over bumps. I've ridden in a 21 Y with standard 18-inch wheels and it was bad in the back.

I do have a question/ suggestions for new video for perspective buyers of a Tesla. 1) I know you are iPhone users, since Tesla doesn’t support Apple CarPlay, what’s your experience not having CarPlay integrated with the car? 2) I’m surprised you two never talk about how to get into the car and go. Ie. I just learned that Tesla doesn’t supply a KeyFob with the car and you are suppose to use your phone or keycard. Just wondering what’s your experience is with that fact.

You can purchase a keyfob from Tesla for those that prefer that type of entry. Not needed though. PHone works well. I bought one for my wife when we transitioned to Tesla. She never uses it!

Yes, the keycard is backup if it doesn't auto-recognize your phone's Bluetooth; you just tap it on the door column. It's a bit of a pain digging the card out of my wallet when that happens. I found that closing the Tesla app on my Samsung Galaxy Android phone and restarting it usually re-enables the connection to let me in and drive. And it actually seems to work better at recognizing my wife's iPhone 12 even though I'm the primary owner! BTW--sometimes when I park and walk away I'm not sure if it will auto-lock the car, so I end up turning around and watching to make sure it chirps and looking on the app to make sure. I've had the car 2+ months, and I might buy a Tesla keyfob because of the auto-lock on walk-away so I don't have to worry whether it actually happened.

We own both2023 M3SR and 2023 MYLR and the biggest differences are handling and suspension. The M3SR does have better handling or fun to drive due to rear wheel drive and the suspension of MYLR is really rough!

No.I've used android auto for many years. But I think that tesla navegation is just as good or better. Although you have to buy Tesla connectivity for $9.99 per month or $100 for 12 months.

@@garybean2205 after turning on one click on the left regen paddle puts it in I-pedal while driving, once shut off it defaults to previous regen setting then must be clicked once to go back into I-pedal, no on screen commands. I wish it would stay in I-pedal but having a choice of regen is nice.
