I'm 71yo. Spend rate about 1% of investments. 12% bracket. New York State. Here is my plan. 70/30 equities to bonds/cash. Rebalance with distributions. 3 years minimum cash not invested. All mutual funds and ETFs. Well behaved in 2020, 2008, 2000 and 1987. Everything else just a blip. Everyone needs a written Investment Policy Statement to guide.

I like your 4 primal points for an successful overall plan for retirement, however its more interesting to play with a small percentage of your funds in individual stocks riding the great success of some phenomenal companies with potential huge upsides..aka Nvidia....
