I don't know if you believe with this superstition but I do believe in this, I always ask for plants and always ask that the owner will personally take them from their mother plants and give them to me personally because I believe they have feelings too and will know if they are being stolen and will soon die in the hands of the thieves.

Oh my gosh I think I finally identified my new succulents I purchased recently! I was thinking it was echeveria Debbie but after 1 month since purchase it is starting to grow upwards. Such a shame people will just help themselves to other peoples property. Luckily my house in in a cul de sac so not many people walk past besides the neighbours. Thank you for the useful information about more water for leaf propagations. 🙏🏽 I have 2 trays I will try this with now. It’s end of spring here so will make sure to water more often. They are still growing fast even with 2x a week watering.

I haven't had any plants stolen yet but a few years back someone (neighborhood kids, most likely) came up on my sidewalk, took a pair of empty small 1.5-2" pots I had sitting out for decoration, and shattered them on the road next to my driveway. One was painted with owls and the other had wavy patterns etched in it. I was less than happy. On topic, if someone were to ask me for a cutting I'd probably be happy to provide one. But outright stealing just saddens me. At least you had a number of leaves left behind and successfully propagated most from what you showed! Succulents never cease to amaze me.

This was so helpful👍🏻 I still struggle with echeveria species): That’s putting it mildly; I kill them over and over again . Somehow when I gave up , one ( in a pot arrangement of Kalanchoe hildebrandt, chocolate soldier, and sedum salsa ) was thriving: Graptoveria opalina. I’m here at this moment trying to learn what I did right for this plant. I have leaf cuttings of it that are doing well too. I suspect that the light exposure and soil mix that I used in the past were not sufficient . In the three years since I started , I have researched a lot and now buy my own substrates to make the best home for each variety of succulent I buy. I have luck thus far with all Except Echeveria /: So thank you for this video again, it helped more than you know(:

WHAT. Aahhhhh. It sucks how people act sometimes. You shouldn’t have to be paranoid about theft. I would be tempted... _to take a photo!_ but then I saw how far your plants were set from the sidewalk and realized I wouldn’t dare step onto your property even for a picture of your lovely plants. Someone really had some gall. 😤 I had a potted arrangement stolen during the night once, and also one time happened to look out the window as a lady pushing a stroller yanked a tulip out of my garden and handed it to her baby when he cried out for it. I get that it’s a kid, but you’re also kinda teaching your kiddo to take whatever he wants without thinking about it. Unfortunately you might want to set up a security camera. Sorry this happened to you! This is the reason we can’t have nice things. Lovely that it turned into a happy science experiment though!

I love plants. When I come across I really like and is in someone's yard, I simply walk up to the door and knock. They may or may not answer. But when they do. I assure them I'm not trying to sell them anything and simply compliment them on their flowers. Then I proceed to ask them if I can have a clipping and they actually give them to me and they are more than actually happy to give them to me all because I asked it's that simple just ask you will be surprised how many people will actually give them to you. This method has never failed me and usually I swapped them with something that I have and they'll take it.
