Largest "rubber tired cable skidder in the world." The largest cable skidder in the world was a Washington Electric Skidder used at Snoqualmie if flew a 2-1/4 skyline and could move two RR cars of wood at the rate of 800 feet per minute. It also was prone to parting the skyline if the skidder engineer got a little heavy on the frictions. It was not a rubber tired skidder it moved on RR tracks, but it was a cable skidder according to the advertisements of the time.

There was one for sale over here in New Brunswick 15 years ago or so but I think it ended up being broken up for parts and scrap. Theres another one featured on the TV show Jade Fever in British Columbia.

Flood of 87 that was used to pull the walking bridge out of the kennebec in skowhegan. Snapped that one inch mainline like it was twine but it was moving that whole bridge until then. Impressive to see and watch it work.

I pulled a lot of mainline when I was 18-20 and that was 3/4” condensed to 5/8. 1” and 1-1/4 would have sucked so bad that this thing would need!
