These things are not water proof in any way shape or form. Even fresh water will need a complete tear down and service to all bearings and electrical connections. That was my first hard lesson with my X-maxx, got it wet and had nothing but problems chasing my tail with seized bearings causing stripping gears and no power from corroded connections etc. KEEP YOUR RC'S DRY AND LUBED!

Dear hobby shop owner. Please learn this lesson and pass it on to your customers. Only play with an RC on dry land. If it gets wet it needs to be stripped dried and lubed. If the receiver gets wet it needs to be treated immediately depending on the type of water. In my experience salt water needs to be washed off with fresh water then the receiver chip removed from the RX case, dried in sun or with hair drier and then sprayed with INOX or conformal coat.

I feel fortunate that my Maxx got dunked in the ocean a month into owning it and the only issue I had was a bad Esc fan and a few bad bearings. I did douse all the exposed electronics with a product called Deoxit the clean everything up. It’s pricey but works wonders on guitars so figured it would help and I haven’t had any issues since. I did tear down the rear diff but was surprised to find it didn’t look like water made it in

I've been telling people not to drive their rc cars at the ocean beaches for years! Being in Florida and having worked at a hobby shop and did the service repairs. I also speak with experience, don't do it! Imagine what the motor is like!

Thank you for the interessting Video. I drove years ago the EMaxx at the beach but didn't dive. So I had no Problems with the Electronic. The bellbearing Problem I had too. I had more grease in the diffs, so the Sand doesn't makes problems, becouse it stopped at the begin of the housing and didn't reached the Metall of the Diff.

That looks pricey😅. Try replacing the fuse on the old esc and wire brush any exposed connector pins you can. I'm sure it's dead but it won't hurt to try. Great content 👍👍 Edit: Just saw that it was servo causing the esc to malfunction
