Wow, your station has been around a long time. I remember in the late 70's as a kid we would listen from Plymouth, NH on Saturday nights when you played oldies music. My mom and dad would have their best friends over and we would make a Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee pizza, and they would play cards after dinner, or my dad and John would work on the race car or log trucks. Good times!!

I'll be on 90.5FM The Beat I'm going to college the 13th for my Major Broadcasting Production. You all did a good job now only If I'll be able to master broadcasting I think the commercials are gonna kick my butt.

Does your voice have to “sound” a certain way on the radio (ref. TV broadcast news anchors/field reporters).

Not in the US. As long as you can speak clearly and not sound like a child you at least theoretically have a chance. However, in the US a radio announcer or DJ is NOT a high paying or status producing job anymore. In the UK, they require Received Pronunciation (essentially a posh London accent) to work for the BBC. That is a LOT different than in the US.

@@mharris5047 The BBC is it's own hot mess anyway. A TV license? What a sham. BTW, I believe in certain counties of Louisiana and Kentucky it doesn't matter what you sound like 🤣

The job title would be close to “radio announcer”, “radio presenter” or “on air talent”. For pay, it really depends on how big the station is.

Not paid much. We don’t get into the industry for money. It’s about doing what you love to do.

Your mike processors way too compressed. Sounds phony. Fix it.

(touches microphone while talking into it) That would get you fired at many stations I've worked for. Unprofessional. Adjust the position BEFORE you start yacking.
