A personal story I had was in the Indian Ocean two adult dolphins came alongside the vessel I was on and they were tilting and looking directly at me with one eye, then they leaped up to me turning looking right at me, then they ushered a pup(?) up to me and let it look at me. To me I felt very much a connection that they were checking me out to see if I was one of the good humans and then they showed me to their child as in 'look they are mostly kind' or they just wanted the young one to have a different experience. I recorder some of it, but when I see things magical like this I choose to immerse myself fully in the moment knowing a camera will remove me from the intimacy of the art in life.

Most, if not all creatures spend each moment surviving. This means being aware of oneself as danger is sensed. Instinct requires intelligence for recognition and most humans are not so constantly aware. Conclude, higher order species such as dolphins are probably way smarter than humans and are only constrained by their physical attributes as well as their environment.

I think it's evident from the mirror tests I've seen performed, that orcas and dolphins pass. They have also passed the mark test by turning the mark towards the mirror to inspect. They obviously cannot rub the mark. But the shear amount of self-directed behavior in front of the mirror alone is enough to convince me that they learn to understand their own reflections when exposed to a mirror. Even so, I would love to see the mirror test performed on dolphins with the mirror actually submersed in the water, so they can swim behind the mirror and see for themselves that there is no other dolphin on the other side. Just to check out their behavior. Checking on the other side of the mirror is a phase that both elephants and great apes go through, and it seems to aid them in grasping the concept.

In my opinion, I think the intelligence levels vary by species. For example, a common bottlenose dolphin is smarter than a Hector's dolphin. Also, just like one person might know more about something than another person, one dolphin in a pod or group might know more than another dolphin in the same pod.

Varied personalities surely; heard of/ seen many instances of what seemed like altruistic behaviors of dolphins (Delphinids generally) toward pod members and other species; then there's the vid pair here in "tube opening experiment" where the one dolphin gobbled all the fish. Would be interesting to know if part of experiment was whether there was cooperation regardless of reward (one dolphin hungry vs the other or something). Thought the mirror self recognition was 95% definitive by 2010.

They are Multidimensional beings. Brain can not reach there. Only Heart. They use Sonar for communication. Their sound is compressed information. Their communication is without misunderstanding. Sound is information. We "Humans" use sound to create words and then we do not understand each other. They communicate directly. If you sometime in your life meet with something called meditation, and if you explore what that is you will figure out that all of the Meditations are based on observing the breath. So if you breathe paying attention to breath you might fall into meditative state of mind, you are awake but your brain works in different mode. It is also if you have ever experienced that state when you go to sleep and before falling asleep you fall into that Nice place in between. Why am I saying this is because Dolphins are creatures living in sea and they have Lungs. That means that they can not make unconscious breath. So to truly understand them, start with some kind of meditation or if you know a way to open heart. Than you will truly and fully understand them. Not with Brain. Human Heart for Humans should be what is Sonar for Dolphins. Nikola Tesla Had a Heart like that. Heart which is Sonar, which is connected to Multidimensionality. From there the Real knowledge comes from. From the Heart, dear Scientists, you can observe it and study it the way you do, but that way you will never find what you are looking for.

Bottle nose dolphins are the only fish in the sea that has a soul . That goes back to heaven All other fish are soulless and controlled by god to provide us with food And for the dolphins I realised that I could kill any fish to eat , but would never kill a dolphin for food like I would not kill family dog , and I would starve to death so that I don't kill them . That is because your soul is to be honoured and from heaven And your an equal This is why people have a strong spiritual link to dolphins they are often used to heal people and Inspire them They are the only fish in the sea that will protect you against sharks and know that it is protecting you so they value you back as you value them They are the angels of the sea
