The part where he mentions that a large part of the Ashkenazi Jews coming from western Ukraine/eastern Poland made a big connection for me. The mentality of the initial Isreali immigrants and what they did to the Palestinians like at Tantura was very similar to the Banderite mentality. Even now the Isrealis get irate at the sight of a Palestinian flag or settlers that rip out olive trees that have been there for centuries -it’s because they want to erase that the Palestinians were there. Just like Banderites did in Galicia or Volhynia to the Poles.

How many Palestinians and Hamas members are being held in Israeli prisons and special camps without trial? These people can be considered hostages. Why not exchange all the hostages for everyone? This war is not about hostages, but about Israeli policy. If the hostage situation is removed, then some of the smoke and mirrors will also disappear.

And they should go back to Europe and try to get along. Palestine belongs to the Palestinians and if the Zionists can learn to get along with their neighbors, who would mind if they remained. Part of the reason Israel was created was that Europeans knew that Zionist’s are trouble and they wanted to get them out of their countries. The Biblical nonsense is not about the loving kindness of the Great Power.

But because of their words and actions I am definitely against Is rael is except for the few like Gideon Levy. they aren't just murderous, they are entitled and arrogant and they are the cause of most of the wars in the Middle East...some of which my family members had to serve in...and they didn't but they are trying to create more wars.

The "founding" of Israel in 1948 is a gross mistake and crime. Europe persecuted Jews for centuries. The German Nazis brought it to industrial perfection by establishing extermination camps/plants with gas chambers (following mass executions). How convenient there was the British idea to get rid of the surviving Jews by sending them off to the Protectorate Palestine: "land for a people without a land in a land without people" - that lie now comes home to roost.

Agree. Since one country is the occupying power and since there's power asymmetry (with an even stronger power backing up the strong power), it's an imperial-colonial campaign of repression and collective punishment. It's not a counterinsurgency because there is no attempt to win the hearts and minds of the majority of the population since essentially all the population is conflated with Hamas.

I am reminded by what Max Blumenthal (who's also a jew) said: Zionists right wingers use similar tactics to Isis and other Islamists groups in that they are designed to make themselves and their own religion hated by others. They want to spread the " its us vs them" mentality in their own group, more antisemitism = more rallying around extremist Zionists, or at least that is what they hope to achieve!

@@annmowatt7547 what you mean to say is that not all Jews agree with Zionism and what Netanyahu is doing. That is not the same as Jews being blameless. Within Israel itself, 70-80% agree with what is going on. Around the world, Jews are moving from the USA, UK, France and Australia to join the IDF and participate in the invasion while Jewish billionaires and lobby groups are working overtime to co-opt governments and public opinion in support of the Israeli genocide. Kudos to Jewish groups like Jews for Peace and Jewish student groups and Jewish commentators like Maté, Finkelstein, Chomsky and others for standing up for Justice and human rights but even they have been labeled self-hating Jews.

There's no "we" Colonel BAUD. The conglomerate that influences political decision making is distinct from the electorate. The USA is Israel's big brother... when big brother got hurt (9/11), it lashed out and "robbed a liquor store and killed a guy (invaded Iraq and Afghanistan which killed over a million Iraqis). It didn't "take the high road" and go to the international court, or the UN, or whatever... it gave itself carte blanche to do whatever it wanted, "might makes right". SO should we be SO surprised when little brother (Israel) got hurt on 10/7, that they did the exact same thing?? They are robbing a liquor store and killed a guy (bombing and killing tens of thousands in Gaza). Problem is, they're dragging the entire world toward the abyss because they have and are overreaching and going TOO far, and they're less capable of handling whatever happens as a result without overreacting.

The youth just aren't buying American hegemony. Maybe it worked in the past, but what have I gotten out of it? I'm a cynical America Firster who wears a MAGA hat and so you probably won't see me at protests, but I'm furious for purely American reasons. This is really an establishment vs the people situation.

What's the rationale for reducing the US public debt? This is a non-problem.
@USFISTER
@USFISTER Ай бұрын
Well for one, eventually the interest on the debt will exceed annual revenues which is a signal to every lender and purchaser of debt that the government is insolvent. How can you promise to pay back your bills when your bills are *guaranteed* to exceed your revenue? It’s not just a likelihood or a probability, it becomes a guarantee
@USFISTER
@USFISTER Ай бұрын
The other problem which is a little more abstract is the necessary devaluation of the currency through public debt will empower alternative currencies and make them a more attractive alternative. Hyperinflation is a real thing. If the currency loses value too fast, there won’t be any reason to use it, and what would the government do when it transacts only in dollars? The entire government is built on the dollar. The government collapses along with the currency.
@stavroskarageorgis4804
@stavroskarageorgis4804 Ай бұрын
@@USFISTER Every instance of hyperinflation involved a fixed exchange system and a convertible currency and/or war and/or a massive destruction or malfunctioning of the real productive sectors of the economy (a sharp decrease of output vendible in the currency in question), etc.. The US public debt represents the interest-bearing, guaranteed as to both principal and interest, US Govt-issued securities owned by (weirdly) the Fed and everyone else (not US Govt). It itself does not represent an inflationary factor. The US Govt spending which it financed, added to domestic private sector spending and external sector spending, is the inflationary factor, relative to available output for sale in USD.
@USFISTER
@USFISTER Ай бұрын
@@stavroskarageorgis4804 the fact that war accompanied economic problems is incidental. There is no requirement of war for hyperinflation to occur. It just so happens that economic problems are almost always, if not always, a precursor to war. War doesn’t cause hyperinflation, overspending does. But spending is necessary to fight modern warfare, that’s just how things work. Your entire logic is that debt doesn’t matter and the government can print an infinite amount of money to pay for anything it wants. You’re really trying to pretend you understand economics with that logic? It makes no sense. You’re asking circular questions. Countries go to war to assert their agency. War is not a desirable thing. It happens because one party perceives themselves as being subjugated by another. You seem to want to go to war if you want the government to print endless amounts of money
