@@stacyorth They can run longer. Yours probably needed an engine flush and some AT-205 to help keep the oil in. Maybe a coolant flush too if the reason it died was because of rust in the coolant system jackets. These are easy fixes like oil changes. Just gotta know better next time. This is something that can be done to most cars these days to help them last longer. The engines we have been getting have been getting better, but the reason I believe they are falling apart sooner has something to do in part with the ethanol we have been putting into the gasoline sold at most gas stations across the U.S.

It wasn't my first choice. I had 2007 Mustang for 10 years. It got hit 3 times in the last year. The last time totaled it. Insurance doesn't give you a lot of money for a well maintained 260,000 mile car. Took a chance on the easy to get into PT. No regrets, yet. Keep up the good work.

One of the hottest buys in the market is bargaining for a 2003-2004 GT model with kick-butt responsive Turbocharger, 5-speed manual or Auto-Stick automatic and ALL the toys. A very kick-butt sleeper of a ride can be purchased for $2-$3k because people like Scotty trash talk them. Bought mine new in 2003, treated the turbocharger & engine to Mobile 1 synthetic oil/filter every 3k-4k miles and have never had drive train trouble at 130k miles/17 years. Top speed governed @ 132 mph & I'm on 1st set of replacement brakes. Planning to drive it another 130k miles and then let the grand kids fight over who inherits it. :) (Be haters if you want, but I'll continue to drive the smart money FUN cars!)

Scotty, I'd like to give an honorable mention of one of the great Mopar cars I've owned. It was a two-door 1979 Dodge Diplomat, Dove (powder gray), gray cloth interior, and a 318 V8 engine. I paid $500.00 for it in 1988 and it needed NOTHING and it had a brand new set of Michelins on it. Guys wife died. I did an oil change and gave the chassis a good visit from the Zirk Gods with a plentiful load of grease. That car ran in the Las Vegas heat for over four years with never getting over the 'C' mark on the temperature gauge. The Airtemp air conditioning was the best I've ever felt from a production car (and I've owned a LOT of Mopars) especially in 115-degree heat sitting at a long stoplight, the engine temp stayed cool and I'd have to drop the fan motor down a notch or two. Older Mopar products have INCREDIBLE A/C with the Airtemp systems. Anyway, I'd like to see you do a video on that little Dodge if you can.
