I have the 2013 SE ecoboost 1.6 turbo with 194K miles on it and it's needed very little heavy maintenance. Recently had the lover control arms on the front done and all four wheel bearings as well as the water outlet from the block since it's plastic and finally gave out causing a pretty big leak. It's always had it's oil changed at 7k miles on full synthetic This car has been such a wonderful daily driver and as you mentioned the interior feels soo amazing. For only having 180-ish HP it still has a ton of pep even with almost 200K miles Have a friend that spilled something on one of your seats? Just wipe it up and scrub for a few seconds, it will come completely out, I have no idea what material they used but it holds almost no moisture making it extremely easy to clean. It's sad that they discontinued the fusion but I'll probably drive this one until the wheels fall off then look for a 2016-2019 Titanium so I can experience the AWD that everyone raves about, though I still have no complaints about the FWD models, they all handle amazing, a lot better than you would expect a car that ranged from $24K-$35K new. They really do stand out with looks and performance as well

I have the 2017 Fusion Platinum. Great car. If you get one, get the Platinum AWD. It has every imaginable option standard. Had one corrected problem. Window bounceback. Tech bulletins showed correction. Perfect now. A small percentage of early 2017 models have had battery drain problems. Fix found. The 2016s are very well rated by CR. However, they have a mediocre infotainment system. The 2017 Sync 3 system is incredible. I would go for a 2018. My previous cars have been: 2013 Acura. 2011 Honda Pilot. 2008 Honda Ridgeline. 2004 Toyota Solara. 2002. Tundra. 2001 Accord. None were fun to drive. I finally decided the heck with resale value and was willing to give up some reliability. The Fusion is fantastic to drive. I hope to get many years out of this car. You can see how frequently I traded in my unsatisfying, but reliable, Japanese makes. Longest I have ever owned a car, my 1998 Ford Explorer Sport. 14 years. 150,000 miles. Also very enjoyable,

I have a 2018 Sport. The all wheel drive is front wheel biased. You can see where the power is being sent on the instrument panel. I love the little updates like all LED lighting, sync 3. along with a few other things. Very first thing I did was do 15% ctx tint around the front and back and 80% ctx on the windshield. Feel like I'm in a fishbowl without tint and it's hot as hell here in the south.

got a 2018 Fusion Titanium and I love it. There was a problem with the transmission initially, but the dealer fixed it and it is better than new. (Cleared the adaptive transmission control module and replace three solenoids!) This is a beautiful vehicle and very nice to drive. I'm coming from a 2005 Focus ST, which I love and still have, and it's like night and day! Analog vs. Digital! Love it!

I don't understand why Ford has discontinued the Fusion. The excuse is...." Sedans just aren't selling compared to the SUV, Crossover, Trucks " I am calling BS on that ! I see Ford Fusions and Focus everywhere ! I think it's just Ford wants to stop manufacturing affordable sedans. I travel a lot and I see Fusions literally EVERYWHERE ! I have even seen Fusions in South Korea and Fords are pretty rare there. I have a 2017 Fusion Se Ecoboost. It has a fairly small engine, but it satisfies my needs. ( I am not into speed so perhaps I am biased ) but my Fusion has a bit of pep in it's step when needed. I really like the design inside and out. Sleek smooth lines and pleasing to the eye. ( just my opinion ) but the one thing I simply love about my Fusion ? COMFORT !!! and plenty of interior room. Previously I had the 2016 Ford Focus and it was a nice car, but the interior space was lacking. The legroom in the back seats left little to be desired. So I was really pleased when I got the Fusion as it has plenty of legroom front and back. Also a huge trunk and an even larger trunk when folding down the seats. But the thing I love the most about the Fusion ? It is, hands down, the most comfortable car I have ever owned ! I have traveled from Virginia to Kansas and back a lot in the past in various vehicles. Dodge Caravan, Ford Explorer, Chevy Trailblazer, Ford Focus, and Ford Fusion. The other vehicles just seemed uncomfortable. I would fidget a lot trying to get comfortable...this is not the case for the Fusion. I have driven from Kansas to Virginia and back, and Kansas to Utah and back and just did not fidget, just pure comfort !!! I seriously don't know why, but it just is comfortable to me. I am actually pissed off that they are discontinued.

With Ford deciding to quit making sedans and going to only SUV’s what would be your next purchase? I’m a Ford guy and our next purchase will be in 2020 and because of my age and medical issues I want a large sedan. Easier to get into and out of. With many car companies deciding to quit making sedans, Chrysler, Chevy, Ford just to name a couple, I don’t know what to buy in that model year. I enjoyed this video, listening to someone who has driven a car for 4 years gives one the ownership experience of the owner and I like to hear that perspective. Have a great day.

Hey Richard. I honestly don’t know if my next car will be a Ford as much as I love them. I really want something I can take to the track but at the same time the comfort and smooth ride of the latest generation Fords are awesome. I’d consider a Ford Edge ST (formerly Edge Sport) because that 2.7L EB V6 is a really nice power plant and they are big and roomy (obviously not a track-capable car though). I’ve always been a sedan guy so we’ll see. Do you think you’d ever buy something like an Edge?
@DAnn-vg3mn6 жыл бұрын
Right now I’m looking at used Fusion or an Edge. Like them both also have an 2016 F150 and it’s the nicest vehicle I’ve ever owned. Used fusions drop so fast that they seem to be a better deal. Difference of 10k equally equipped.

The Test Drive .....my wife and I have always been Ford people. We’ve been buying Fords since the 1980’s up until about 8 years ago. We have a family member who works for Chrysler and he’s been able to get us employee pricing on Chrysler/Jeep products. But about Fords, I always liked the Edge, my problem is because of medical issues a small/mid-size car is too hard for me to get in or out of. I like the Taurus but since Ford announced they will no longer make the sedans and getting into an SUV is so difficult I don’t know what we will be driving in a year and a half when our lease is up. To answer your question, yes I would buy an Edge if it wasn’t for the issues I have. I think it’s a great looking SUV and Ford styling is second to no one. Have a great day.
@richardrybarczyk55226 жыл бұрын
D. Ann .....The Ford F-150 is a great truck. I really like the styling of the F-150, the interior is so plush you feel that your driving an expensive sedan. I had an F-150 in the nineties for 3 or 4 years and enjoyed the experience. After that in about 2004 I leased an Expedition and leased another one in 2011, both were excellent vehicles. Buying a used vehicle that’s 2 years old can save you a lot of money, sometimes buying a 1 or 2 year old car can save you a lot of money. The Edge with the titanium package would be a good value at two years old, you get a well equipped vehicle for thousands less and in many cases it still has that new car smell. Have a great day D. Ann.

Kudos for standing up for the Fusion interior. Car reviewers like to pan the Fusion interior, because it hasn't been updated. However, that is just a subjective opinion on style. Objectively, the Fusion interior has high quality materials and feels luxurious. Mazda has bypassed it with the 2019 6 and Honda finally equaled it with the 2018 Accord. Everyone else in the midsized class is still trailing the Fusion in interior quality. Not bad for a car that hasn't had a redesign since 2013.

What's the opinion about the Sport trim 2018+? I think I might've narrowed down needing a catch can for the GDI engine and PTU oil changes. Sounds like there's oil leaks on some of the ecoboost engines but that's being fixed with Ford switching out the plastic oil pans to aluminum ones.

how reliable is it , i kinda wanna buy a fusion with the 2.0 ecoboost but keep hearing tranmission problems and dirty intake valves becuase of the direct injection, im told at work to get a toyota camry becuase fusion values drop like crazy and the camry should keep its value much better but still want a fusion even though the camry should last a lot longer..
@Rob165x6 жыл бұрын
Accords have great engines and tech and maybe better resale value than a Camry. Low mileage accords are hard to find cheap. But the new Camry's are supposedly very comfortable. The new Mustangs use both Direct and Port Injection, I would look into whether the new Fusions do too, that should get rid of the dirty valves. I use Chevron with Techron on my 2014 SE with 1.5 ecoboost but I have to do some research because it's a little costly to other brands...so it better be cleaning my damn engine. Nonetheless it's a very sexy car, even though its a long sedan. Maybe it's just me but it's butt tends to stick out a little more than other sedans in my lot.
@Rob165x6 жыл бұрын
Btw I got my Fusion SE 2014 for 10.5k US with under 74k miles. Yeah they do lose value quick, they're fleet cars, think mines might have been too unfortunately. I recommend getting the titanium though even if they're harder to find for cheap. (They start a lot higher) If you can't at least find an SE with the technology packet. I also wish I had the leather seats, dune cloth stains easier. I wanted Carplay but I have the 4'' dash, it's a huge expense to replace it. Not to mention the backup camera has to be installed too.
