Scotty, I own a 2017 base model Kia Forte LX myself. I bought it new as a leftover with steep incentives in Feb of 2018 for around $16k. It now has over 70K of hard miles (I'm an Uber Driver), but it hasn't given me the slightest bit of problems. Mine has the standard 6-speed transmission, which I think gives it quite a bit more oomph than the automatic, but I'm still able to get a combined average of 35 MPG. If I maintain a steady 55 on the freeway I can get around 45 MPG, but who am I kidding, I never drive that slow. My brakes still have over 40% remaining. The size of the trunk is surprising for a car that size. I often pick-up passengers headed to, or from, the airport or seaport that are amazed that I got all their luggage to fit. My passengers often compliment me on its ride and comfort, and are quite surprised by how well it compares to the Civic, Corolla, and even its sibling, the Hyundai Elantra. I only wish it had an independent rear suspension, as driving over railroad crossings or pot holes can sometimes be quite jarring. All in all I'm quite happy with it, and just wanted to share my experience.

How much do you pay a month for your kia if you dont mind me asking. I’m a college student and really need a car. On the website it says that I could pay as low as $250 a month (without insurance) but I wanna know how truth that is.
@robertcabrera6232
@robertcabrera6232 2 жыл бұрын
@@Juliquiny As a young person in college my advice to you would be to buy a reliable older used Civic, Accord, Corolla, or Camry rather than buying anything new. Before rideshare driving I sold cars for years, and I can't tell you how many young people I know who messed up their credit by getting into payments that they thought they could afford while they were in college, but struggled with them when the realities of independent life in the real world hit them. Most students, unless on full ride scholarships or getting tuition paid by their parents, are racking up student loan debt, and most jobs right out of college are entry level even if lucky enough to get in their chosen field. There are a lot of costs associated with car financing that no one ever thinks about when purchasing. For one, there is routine maintenance and normal wear and tear which isn't covered under warranty, that usually means taking to a dealer during the warranty period, which is expensive. If you don't put a lot of money down you'll need to get GAP coverage, so that if your car is totalled you won't end up owing the finance company more than your insurance will pay for the car's value. You'll also need full coverage insurance, and since you are young without a lot of money saved, you'll probably want uninsured motorist protection added and a lower deductible, so again you won't end up owing the finance company way more than insurance will pay if totalled. As to my Forte, as I mentioned it was a 2017 leftover that I purchased halfway through the 2018 model year. It was the cheapest, most basic, trim level, with no other options, and I purchased with $2000 in factory incentives, plus what was probably nearly that amount in factory to dealer incentives to move out the old inventory. So I got it for around $16,000 OTD. When all was said and done, my monthly payment was just under $250, but I also had well established good credit, had been on my job for several years, and put down $2500. I hope this helped.

My coworker bought a 2017 sonata and while I never hear him complain, he's owned it only a year and there's paint peeling off on the roofline. Cheap Korean crap. @@microtransactions2661 okay, in regards to the Optima, that was a recall that KIA actually took responsibility for, which is more than I can say for Toyota and their unintended-acceleration situation (and current CVT failure problem on Corollas). And paint on a car is hardly anything I really care about if the car runs and drives fine. It's amazing what people consider to be 'cheap' when it comes to a car. Meanwhile, you have Honda Accords on the market with good paint jobs, but failing transmissions. Ask yourself: which would you rather deal with?

I find that the transaxle works tighter if you switch to the sport shift, which also has a lag on hard shifts so you have to shift it early but if you have the interest to do you can experiment with it. Also if you are looking for power use the sport mode. I have to warn everyone that the eco drive mode is not meant for the city stop and go traffic and I have had situations where it was not responding predictably to accelerating, making for a few scary moments. It’s meant for the highway so be careful.

I've had my 2010 Kia Forte almost 10 years! GREAT gas mileage especially on the highway. I could drive to my college town 100 miles away on 1/4 tank of gas (used roughly 3 gallons, CRAZY). The only issues I've ever had out of it were a weird shift from I think 1st to 2nd, the mechanics fixed it up for me, and my battery was just changed last year! I think 3-5 years is recommended but mine held up, I noticed the power was starting to diminish and it was having a harder time starting and I knew. Most of the OEM parts like headlights and such, I have only replaced a tail light and turn signal light. It's been a great car, I don't have 100,000 on it yet and it's my daily driver. It'll be hard to let it go, I don't plan to anytime soon.

It handled curves fairly well and had a good amount of standard features. It's a car that I now am considering owning and running up the miles on and its one that I could say I even seen the value purchasing new and just keeping a long time. Just got the oil changed on my 2014 Kia Soul. Great car, with more space inside than I thought. It's my everyday work car, and it's had no major problems at all through the years. My daughter is patiently waiting for me to hand it down to her, which I probably will be doing soon. I have no problems buying a Kia again. They seem pretty reliable to me! Thanks Scotty for all that you do! Keep up the great work, and God Bless! 👍🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾

Love my Kia Forte it has been the best car I have owned yet, 6 years later put through abuse (including a window at sprint my Aunt decided to drive through) and it is still going strong. Only have had to do maintenance work, so far I'm impressed!

Hm, engine blew at exactly 100K miles on my 2015 Sorento. There's a recall on engines from 14 to 2017 I think. Comfortable ride an plenty of room for 6 people.

My 16 Sorento blew at 90k. Kia replaced it no charge. Traded it in for a 21 Forte.

I own a 2012 kia forte bought in 2013 when I was 17, im 27 and still driving it. Mines a manuel, never had any issues. Swapped out bulbs and spark plugs that was it. I plan to drive it until it drops!

I love my 2017 KIA Forte. Only had one problem with it. The spark plug coil #3 cylinder went bad but KIA replaced all 4 for free said it was a recall on them. Almost forgot, the trunk latch had to be replaced. This is very common as well. Other than that great running car and if you want speed put it in "SPORT" mode.

There's a recall on the motor like every other Kia and Hyundai cylinder 3 usually is where alot of customers see the bearing failure. The engine either seizes or throws the rod right threw the motor like mine did.

I have a 2019 Kia Forte. The transmission is awesome! The transmission on this model is awesome! Stop your needles droning on about the transmission and needles complaints about it. Yea, you gotta find something to be negative about, but the awesome transmission is not a negative issue on this model

I have a 2017 kia Forte Lx. And I haven't have no issues or problems with it. Is good on gas and comfortable. My wife had the 2018 Kia Optima fe. And my younger Son has the 2017 Optima Hybrid. We love this cars. Easy to maintain and work on. If I'm to get another new car it would definitely be another Kia.

I remember when kia first arrived they were ugly and ppl said they were crap. In 2017 I purchased a 2016 Forte Lx with 8,000 miles for 12,999 with warranty thru 2021. So far so good travels well. I've been all over ca, and to Las Vegas. Now at 49000 love it.
