I learned to drive with my grandfather on a Chevrolet C10 1970 that had the standard transmission and it was with the driving wheel and I was 12.when he taught me. One of my cousins still has it and drives but being in Puerto Rico it has lots of rust since was kept outside for the last 10 years. My grandfather died 2 years ago and he had 98 with great and healthy memory but his lungs were not oxygenating enough at that age and he was still walking around to church since he was a deacon. He died after he went to the bathroom and came back to take a nap after a nurse checked him out. He didn't want to use a wheelchair because he always said that he was able to walk and that it was better for someone else who couldn't.😉😂

I can relate. 2015 Honda Civic 1.8 6 speed manual hatch (Gen 9). In my country, Honda does not offer any manual civic models anymore. When I asked them why, they said “no demand”. So this is my last Honda, which I’m going to drive until Mother Earth reclaims the metal.

Especially now that the Focus and Fiesta are gone from the North American market. Those cars were very popular and available in manual. It's sad to see them go. Americans as a whole are trending away from coupes and sedans and favoring crossovers, SUVs and trucks instead, hardly any of which are offered in manual.

The Kentucky Litmus test - Blue Corvette = Kentucky fan Red Corvette = Louisville fan I like manual transmissions to automatics any day. There's a 2008 Toyota Matrix listed for sale at a dealership close by with a manual but they are asking too much for it. If I can talk them down it might become mine.

I learned to shift on my little Honda S-90. My boys learned on a Ford Aspire with a 5-speed. They wanted a car to drive to school and were highly pissed that I bought the tiny 60 hp Ford. But they learned quick. And the little hatchback was surprisingly good in the winter.

Bought a 09 one owner sothern California C6 with G51 Ls3. What a great car! 436hp . Great power and handling 30mpg with the cruise set at 80mph. Fairly simply to work on when you compare it to the Porsches I've owned. Great car!

My first car was a '58 Chevy Brookwood station wagon 283 with an automatic transmission. It was a tank. My second car was a '63 Chevy wagon with a three on the column manual transmission and a 283. I found it was easy to learn to shift. After that it was manual transmissions for me.

I searched far and wind for a good Challenger with a manual transmission plus low miles. Finally found a 2010 with the 5.7 Hemi, 6 speed manual, and only 13,000 miles on it. Total gem! I must say, the transmission is solid and so much fun, it took me about a month to figure out how it likes to be driven. It'll be a sad day when manuals don't exist anymore :(

On that accord the fuel filter is on the firewall and super easy to change. And like Scotty says, use a oem Honda one. And when u buy a new fuel pump it usually will come with that filter bag thing that goes on the bottom of the pump.

I own a 2004 Z06 Corvette. It has the 405 hp engine but the engine displacement isn't larger than the engine in this blue Corvette. The horsepower difference is due to different cam shaft specs and electronic tuning. The gas mileage is also nearly the same as the 350 up engine.

Just had the worst car experience yet! Got stranded in a parking lot with my pontiac g6 for a few hours, thought the battery died when I got in and it said "error" instead of my milage after not starting... turned out my ground wire going from the battery to the engine literally fell off, thankfully I have a subwoofer I was able to take a wire from there and use it to go from my battery to the engine and got it running again! Going to do a proper repair tomorrow on it :)

Costco has those interstate batteries with 3 year warranty. I had a weird scenario where the cover/cap for the acid fluid broke off within a month and costco let me do warranty replacement w/o question

I bought a 2003 Mazda Protege with a 5 speed manual this past February with 117,500 miles. It’s on the low end of the Protege family so nothing special. A great car for learning stick and fun to drive. So many where I live have asked me if I am going to sell it and I have said no. Some even tried to place a low ball offer on the spot and I simply walk away.

Have a '95 King Cab Hardbody 2.4, may run forever, and a 2012 Sonic LS 1.8, more fun than you might imagine, both are 5-speed. Oddly, speed/rpm is the same in every gear!

Had a 2017 Mustang GT manual with the borla atak exhaust. Loved every second driving and shifting. Traded in for a 2021 Tacoma because I needed a bigger vehicle for my growing family. Man I tell ya. I love this Tacoma with all the bells and whistles but I immensely miss my 6 speed. Ill get another Mustang one day

I avfeel your pain. They retired our stick-shift tractors and all of the new ones during the past five years are automatics. I shed a tear when my old 2012 International went to the junkyard. Now I have a 2020 Freightliner that I love......but I do miss rowing through the gears.

I learned to drive when I was 16 and it was in a Ford Mustang with a standard transmission. I was specific that I wanted to learn to drive a manual transmission because the truck I bought for my first car, I bought with a manual transmission. Didn't have a problem, come to think about it, it's going to be 50 years come Feb 1. It's too bad manual transmissions are going the way of the dodo. I can still do a special order for a Toyota collorla or Tacoma Pick up.

doesn't even have to be a sports car, 9/10 times it was an old guy who owned it and took meticulous care of it. There's a bunch of older folks out there who refused to switch to automatic so they were driven properly too. IMO you don't need alot of power to have fun in a stick shift.

My 2000 with an automatic gets almost 30 on the freeway. My mechanic asked why not drive the truck more since the Vette is kinda hard for daily use. I get better mileage in the vette.

For the size of that engine and only getting out that much horse power it's quite bad, here a 2L diesel engine would get that easily. But manual transmission is the way to go, simple, and if your starter goes you can bump start it.

Nobody talks about this, but manual transmissions are much safer than automatics. Automatic braking and other safety systems are being added to vehicles in an effort to try and help.
