I bought a zodiac sea wolf white and neon in the summer and love it. It's a slightly smaller case size and wears really well. Is different in colour and really good value. Love mine.

I think aesthetically the skin diver shares quite a few similarities with the recent Laurel Alpinist reissues with those large triangles, the dauphine hands and the thin lugs and general case shape.

Great video. Have a Sea Dragon chrono and love it. I read somewhere that because Zodiac are part of Fossil, and they're massive, that there is a higher percentage of the parts made in house in Switzerland than shipped in from the East, unlike a lot of watches that say Swiss Made on the dial.

Excellent review Russ. Really like these watches. My dad was a scuba dive yuppie but in the 60's! He then got hooked on Mountaineering in the 70's. He might have had a Zodiac, not sure, I do remember his Pogue very well and his Seiko divers. Very entertaining as always and appreciate what the wife said!! Do you know that many of us may well be doing the bezel face along with you! 🤣

Super sea wolf 53 is definitely my favourite but there's always a but the bezel is a bit 90s prefer a colour,.so why dont you go for the compression then i hear you say i dont like the dial as much as the other one or the butterfly clasp.always something.

Great show, once again. I’ve always had a thing for Zodiac. Not sure why, but I do. I love the limited edition skin diver. That’s definitely a piece that fits my style. However, I was disappointed in the lume. Did it even have any at all? If so, it was virtually undetectable in the video. You would think that being a part of Fossil that they would be able to bring the cost down a little bit, like Invicta did with Glycine. Maybe I’m just nit-picking. I would definitely love to own a Zodiac one day. Thanks for enlightening us to some new pieces from a brand that doesn’t get much love.

Certainly a fair comment my friend. Obviously we don't know how the company is run in terms of production, design etc. If all the parameters were similar to the Invicta/Glycine partnership then it maybe a valid thought. What I would say is the reputation of Zodiac could grab I higher price?A company that was founded in the 1800's , that would be my thoughts anyway!

My frugality makes me question the cost of everything, not fully realizing why some things cost what they do. The same frugality has kept me from pulling the trigger on a handful of watches along the way. To spend over $1000 on a watch, it needs to be just about perfect (by my standards of course). Question - I have a mid 1960's Zodiac Seawolf. It never ran right for my Dad when he owned it. I had it served and "repaired" 20 years ago and it never kept time, so it's just been collecting dust since then. I'd like to keep the housing and the face but upgrade it to a quartz movement. Cool watch and it was one of the first ever dive watches which you could have said more on as it’s pretty significant. Also the Zodiac killer, an American serial killer who used to taunt the police with coded messages signing it with the zodiac logo hence the name Zodiac killer! Never caught so it could be you…!!

Both great looking watches, personally it’s the compressor for me but as you mentioned why not match the date with the dial. I think the compressor has a doxa look about it and to be fair if I was shelling out that sort of money I’d go up a bit for a doxa. Excellent vid Russ and as usual the wife breaks it all down to it’s bear essentials perfectly.

And then I noticed F&G were now stocking Zodiac. I am so happy you made this video. Just yesterday I was reading up on the history of Zodiac. I wanted to send Marc and TGV a message to ask them to make a video explaining what exactly happens when a watch company (such as Zodiac) is purchased completely by another company (Such as Fossil). I would love to know if they are in any way the same actual company. Or, do they simply reuse the design and name without any true connection.

I own 3 Super Sea Wolf 53's, and they have definitely become some of my favorite, and most worn watches! I love the unique colors, the fit, and they make some of the best bracelets around. I highly recommend you give them a try if you can!

Im looking to buy either a Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 compression in black DLC (currently on sale 50% off) or a Squale 1545. I love the Zodiac but have seen dozens of comments about people saying the watch shit the bed within a few weeks and other horror stories about the quality going way down on Zodiac. If thats the case im going to go with the Squale 1545 but any input you can give me would be greatly appreciated. This will be my first auto with a swiss movement and id really like it to not be a lemon.
