Yeah, Zebras are basically too wild to be tamed and almost unpredictable.

All equines are pretty fierce in self-protection, horses included. I'm pretty certain horses were very much the same, back, when cavemen hunted them for food. It takes Milena to breed the wilderness out of any species, and yet, horses have still got a lot of that original defence mechanism. Donkeys, both wild and domesticated, too, are brutal when they defend themselves or fend off intruders, they are even used as guards in herds of sheep because they attack wolves and other predators.

Horses have a hierarchy, where they follow the lead female That’s why it’s easier to domesticate, cause they follow you once they see you as the lead matriarch
@joearnold58365 ай бұрын
It's straight up crazy how many people think just because these animals are herbivores without claws/fangs/etc that they're not brutal and dangerous AF. They're nuts!!
@Seleuce5 ай бұрын
@@J11_boohoo That is more or less the same for donkeys and zebras. All equines have similar social structures. There is also not just a matriarch, but a patriarch, too. Equines are led by a mare and a stallion with different functions as leads.
@fawnphoenix932924 күн бұрын
@@Seleuce I could be wrong but I feel like zebras dont follow much of a higherarchy, they stick together to be safe from predators but other than that I dont know if they care about the survival of any zebras in their herd other than themselves. Like horses totaly operate like a comunity or family, but zebras seem indiferent to each other.

They bite too really really hard. They also kick themselves, other animals, humans with their hind legs for no reason. Walk near them and they slowly turn use their hind legs and give a very strong kick and run off to continue grazing like nothing happened.

Guy down the street from my farm has zebras. He's been trying to domesticate them for the past 25 years. He hoped his sons and grandsons will be able to see his dream come true. Have to give props to the dude. But he's been draining his life trying to achieve his goal. He has 3 that he's able to ride so far. But to keep breeding that same trait is going to take him atleast 30 more years to successfully have a species that can be used like any horse

their backs are too weak to carry a person so even if we could tame them we would hurt them if we rode them

The original wild horses were also too small and weak to carry people. If we were to domesticate zebras, they would no longer resemble what they are today. They would likely be much larger and stronger, whatever desirable traits we can, we would selectively breed into them.
