It’s funny, I’m broke as a joke, I’m not easily swayed by wealth and because of that I’m borderline homeless but staying with my rich bestie at one of their family’s mansions. If this emperor materialized in front of me this instant, he might think “oh no! I need more money, it’s not enough, it won’t be up to her standards!!1!” Meanwhile, I’m just deeply impressed homie owns his own house AND isn’t a sociopath or directly related to one. Problems with anything, it seems- I could stand to have some "all the money on Earth" change, though. Don't get me wrong- I'm out of cupboard space for food storage and own a lot of nice stuff, I just don't have many liquid assets. But I like your description of money- I get more or less whatever I want, often by trading paintings for it. (Go away, IRS- "money" never enters the equation.) And yeah, they're probably insane... but I've got no place to talk- I could be a billionaire fairly easily, but I don't see much reason for that- I'm a single guy with two dogs. I could happily live in a yurt or some similar nonsense. I sort of grew up in poverty, but it was really more like I was Huck Finn or Tarzan- hunting and foraging was easier than getting the hell beat out of me if I went home, especially if I was looking for dinner. I don't know if it's a proverb, but it should be- "Hand-caught Crawdads boiled in a tin can on the riverbank are better than trying to chew steak with loose, bloody teeth." Honestly, it's kind of complicated with kids- I nearly killed myself trying to give my step kids what I never had, and they turned out to be spoiled, entitled brats- I kind of let their mom raise them, and I was shocked by the level of absolute greed I saw come out of them when she died.
