I bought her CD Laundry Service when it came out, at around the same time I bought several other CDs including Kylie Minogue's Fever and Nelly Furtado's debut CD. Not only did you blush, you paused the video and threw your headphones to the side. Welcome to the land of drop dead gorgeous, power house vocals and hypnotizing Latinas in music! Let us not forget those before her, Selena (incredibly gorgeous, crazy vocals and an amazing body) may she Rest In Peace! Seriously you have to check her out! Start with her Disco Medley as it’s in English and go from there. Then you have Gloria Estefan beautiful, amazing vocals, incredible catalog of music in English and Spanish. My favorite Spanish song by Gloria is “Mi Tierra”. Christina Aguilera “Pero Me Recuerdo De Ti” and “Ven Conmigo”. Bomba Estéreo “Soy Yo”. There are so many more artists. The first time my brothers saw Shakira they acted the same way. And as the oldest of the three I am the only one who speaks Spanish. So I love teasing my brothers especially when Shakira’s “La Tortura” came out. You definitely have to see that next. Absolutely loved your reaction!

Shakira is from Colombia which has the Andes and some names of the mountains there can be translated to “breast mountains” because of how huge they are and how they’re shaped as big breasts. Shakira is brilliant. This song is from her first album with songs primarily in English and she had not even known the English language for long at all at that time, yet she wrote full songs in it. She was already a big name in Latin America, but with Laundry Service (the name of the album) she blew up everywhere. It's been 20 years and yet I swear this woman hasn't aged a day xD You should check out more songs/videos from that album and from both her later and earlier stuff. She's been releasing albums since she was 13-14 years old and her purely Spanish-speaking albums before this one were awesome! "Dónde Están Los Ladrones?" is a fantastic album! "Ojos Así" is a super cool song from that that's like a mix of both her Latin and Arab roots. She made an English version of that song too for "Laundry Service". "Ciega, Sordomuda" is also great. That's a really cool thing about Shakira, she's always loved to experiment with different sounds and genres when creating her music and still does now. Her new music is also great. She's quite brilliant for sure - and absolutely stunning, of course! Oh, and you should really check out the Super Bowl performance Shakira did with Jennifer Lopez. They were fantastic! Shakira did so many things in that performance and she was just amazing. Always is! :)

I used to have a DVD of her in concert--when I was cleaning around the house I'd play it just so when I came in the room I got to see her performing!
