Episode 2x8 is my favorite episode of the whole series. By giving the backstory, it adds so much more depth and feeling to the characters and the show. And Scott Jaeck as Sam is one of my favorite single episode characters and performances on any series.

Even though leo and piper are soulmates, and meant to be together. I can't help but to feel feel bad for dan he really cared for piper. And always there for her. I wonder how things would've ended up if dan would've found interest in phoebe instead of piper. I mean she was single and wasn't really in a steady relationship at the time. 🤔

You asked about team Leo or Dan. I remember when I was watching it years ago I was against Dan, he irritated me because we had Leo and then some other guy came up and started kissing Piper, lol. Of course I was against it, but now, after a long time, I find the idea of him somewhat attractive. He is a good guy, he has always been nice to Piper and in general he is a good husband material. But for some other woman. Not for Piper's life and this supernatural world is a huge part of her so he's not for her character. What they did here is a better version of buffy s4 story, which was at the same time as s 2 of charmed. When they found a "normal guy" for Buffy, but with whom she had no chemistry. Here there is chemistry and this relationship looks more interesting if we forget about the Leo idea for a sec.

​@@alexie5201 if I compare who had it better Piper and Dan or Buffy and Riley, that's definitely the first ones. That's the idea. You have to try hard to create a love story as dull as B&R. Considering that the plot tried to show it as some big love story with all his love confessions, and Dan and Piper were more of a crush, she met some cute and handsome guy and no one ever said that he should be her one and only. Her sisters always told her that it was purely her business and whoever she chose, they would accept it. And eventually this story ended logically. I don't feel much pressure here. Unlike with Buffy when they literally told her that "that's the guy that comes once in a lifetime so go run after him". This is forced. By the way. And about Phoebe. He had like 3 scenes with her, I can't say that I had enough time to notice a lot of smth going on, I remember she was smiling a lot but that's not enough for me. She smiles at every man she sees I believe.

@@JuneJaneb4 I'm not sure it's wise to compare a high school romance and an adult relationship, but Buffy and Riley were a much more interesting couple, in my opinion. They were together for quite a long time, not just a couple of episodes like Piper and Dan, and there was at least some complexity to their relationship. Dan was a forgettable character, very handsome but with no personality, no background, and no depth. Just a crush, like you said. Nobody told Buffy that Riley was "the one", except Xander. And I think it's fair to say... he is the worst person to give relationship advice :)

​@@alexie5201 sorry but the idea that B&R can be an interesting couple is below my level of understanding, it's beyond me. If THIS is interesting, then you can call any s*** interesting. You just said that they were forced as much as here. But now you call it interesting. I think you just want to defend the series rather than talk about them. But the point of conversation is different. It's not about for how long they were dating and it wasn't high school by the way. It was for 1,5 year but it was a complete waste of time and not their benefit. The whole episode when he leaves is introduced not from some character's point of view, it is shown on behalf of the writer and the plot. That's why it has not been refuted by anyone and when he came back she still thought she needed to apologize.That's why he was there for 1.5 year. He was written to be a rival of her previous love interest and they had high hopes for him. But reality gave us zero chemistry and boring storyline which still was dragged by the author for year and a half. And then they blamed her for this failure. And that's how it ended. You chose the word forced and I honestly think it fits them like nowhere else. When here we have a shorter yes, but more natural way where no one is blamed, and where they say the most important thing is that this person is simply not for her. I def prefer it better.

Both of these relationships were dull and didn't serve any greater purpose other than a rebound/distraction. But if I had to choose, I'd still stand with Buffy and Riley's, just because I was invested in them a little bit more. You obviously have a different opinion, and that's alright. To each their own.

I always felt bad for Dan. He is really disliked by the fandom but honestly I wish I could be with someone like him. Nice, friendly, caring, respectful, kind person (not to mention he’s handsome). Even though Piper is my favorite sister, she was not a good girlfriend to Dan (only saying that because Sofie is on S3 already so it’s not a spoiler)
