I didn't realize well why c1 level is normal in HAE but decreased in AAE?

C 1 is normal in type 2 and type 3 HAE but not HAE 1 . In type 2 it is normal or high but not functioning. In type 3 it is normal but the problem is in FXII . In AAE C1 is low because of auto antibodies that destroy C1 .

@@ahmadamdamr thanx for your help but i think you are talking about c1 inhibitor,i asked about c1 protein,if there is a condtion in body that consumes c1 protein of complement system like HAE why c1 level is normal in HAE? I read about it in medscape web,it says the same thing but didn't say why

I'm so confused. Had a patient with Angioedema for the first time a few days ago. They had Epinephrine nebulizer as well as Firazye subcutaneously. order to use in case of angioedema attack... Are the MDs on my unit dead wrong on this? Thanks!

Most likely then he had anaphylaxis or IgE mediated angioedema Hereditary and acquired angioedema are a completely different diagnosis

According to my text books, HEA is indeed treated as you say. But AAE is treated with tranexamic acid! Anyway thx for the video, nice and clear and I am indeed an idiot :(
