The very model of a Victorian country house church, St. James', Canon Frome, stands behind Canon Frome Court, and was rebuilt in the Victorian era by Frederick Preedy for the Hopton family. The village name comes from the Augustinian canons of Llanthony, who owned the Manor in the middle ages.
