It is true that many Muslim countries have been a safe haven for Jewish communities throughout the years, especially if compared to Europe. But there still have been pogroms before and after the creation of the state of Israel. And even if some people justify the ones happened after the foundation of Israel they killed innocent jews that had nothing to do with Israel up to that point in which they had to go there to survive. I'm sure that a number of the jews that have been killed were even anti-zionist for one reason or another. And they also lost all their land and properties. It is estimated that they had to leave behind land 5 times the size of Israel and a couple of billions of dollars of properties. This should also be condemned since is the origin of many jews not being safe in the middle east and north africa to this day. And still, I understand your statement and I even agree with it, but we have been treated fairly up to the point in which we reclaimed our heritage. Many Muslims have a problem in acknowledging that being jewish is being part ofnan ethnicity, they have problems saying that the Levant is the place in which jews are indigenous. They call us foreign and tell us to go back in countries were were massacred. We've been killed in millions in Italy for not being Italians, in Germany for not being Germans, in Poland for not being Polish, in Russian for not being Russians. Yet, they tell usbti go back there and that we don't belong here simply because some of us (only 20% of Israel's population is ashkenazi) has now a lighter skin and 30% dna admixture mostly from Southern Europe. I would love to return the favor, but it's hard to cheer for someone that calls for your death.

At fifteen, moved to Israel with my family, living for the first year at the Mirkaz Klitah, a government run absorption center in Katamon Tet, Jerusalem. First friends I made immediately upon arriving in the neighborhood were a motley crew of Moroccan , Algerian (moving from west to east), Turkish, Kurdish and Persian descent . First real girlfriend was a beautiful Moroccan girl (memories of Celi...🥰) whose family had moved to France in 67 before coming to Israel a few years later in 72 (like me). The parents of these teenagers talked fondly of their places of birth.
