Nice catches! 1072 went through Vancouver Washington recently, as a DPU. Quite rare for us out here. My favorite heritage units personally are: Amtrak 822, Amtrak 184, Amtrak 406, Union Pacific 1982, Union Pacific 1989, NS 8099 and 8114. 1072 is nice, but not preference for me.

Cool horn action on the last Amtrak.Why was southern pacific heritage pulling the train backwards?
@GTRailroadVideos9 жыл бұрын
+RB Railfan it was the DPU on the other train and this is just a transfer to Whitaker yard so they run the DPU for power

It was the DPU on the train and they split the train and ran it solo LHF to the yard.

that on Amtrak train had a lot of baggage cars on it. A lot of them trains have nice horns on them. good catch with that Amtrak at the end 145 and 822
@GTRailroadVideos9 жыл бұрын
the one at 14:03 in the video is the Crescent #19 with the Amtrak Heritage train with it, so those aren't baggage cars technically they are the exhibit cars now.

I know this vid is a few years old but it's still cool, and NS is still running those heritage units. Presumably UP is too, because they both give a sh*t. Now what the hell is wrong with CSX that they couldn't leave some of their heritage stuff in its original colors? I'd love to see some more of that old C&O-B&O-Chessie stuff, and still being something of a FL newbie, I've never seen a Seaboard unit. Guess I ain't gonna. 😛😛😛
@GTRailroadVideos7 жыл бұрын
CSX doesn't care about heritage. Right now they're more concerned about staying in business than painting heritage units.
