I can't get over the idea of finding these things just in the ground/caves. It's crazy!

Heh, the bulk of them are found in ridiculously hard rock that requires hard work with heavy sledgehammers.

Loved this ! Have never seen so many variations of herkimer all together in one video. Fascinating ! ( such a shame that it was so difficult to hear a lot of what she was saying though ) Thanks for sharing this 💞

Skeletal growth (Hopper growth) is where the edges grow faster than the faces, leaving "windows" in the faces. Elestial growth ( Parallel growth) is where the faces and edges both growth very fast, leaving a scaled, intricate pattern. And scepters are rare, they are the top prize of quartz collectors. most locations with quartz will never or extremely rarely see scepter growth, only a few dozen localities in the US have good scepters. If you are in N. NV Dave, hit me up for an invite to dig for some amethyst scepters.

Hey Dave! How does one go about getting ahold of you? I'm curious if you've seen any orbicular granite, or any graphic granite at the show this year?
