Im Prinzip sind solche "Musikmaschinen" die ersten "Roboter" der Geschichte. Man "programmiert" sie und sie führen aus, was "programmiert" wurde. Und das Ganze ohne nur ein Stück Elektronik bzw. früher sogar ganz ohne Elektrik.

Ja das stimmt. Das ging so lange bis um etwa ende der 1930er bis Anfang der 1940er Jahre. Die Nostalgie Wende kam erst so um 1960. Darum sind sie bis heute selten und teuer. Das hab ich festgestellt. Liebe Grüße von mir.

The idea for the card or paper roll music came from the Jaquard weaving looms which used cards to 'program' the patterns in carpets and fine fabrics. Earlier organs had pinned barrels, just like large music boxes, and carillons for church bells. That method of programming goes back to before 1700. Some of the classical music composers, including Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn, wrote music specifically to be played on musical clocks.
