I completely agree with your comments on how to get a Birkin/Kelly. I was just like you - I walked in and just asked (I did spend some money, but that was only because I actually wanted those items). I clicked with my SA and I told her I was doing a bit of birthday shopping. I told her my dream bag and a month later, she called me in for a surprise! To everyone - just go in and be yourself!

I didn't believe it until I experienced it. And I can't agree more with you. It is possible to get your dream Hermès bag directly from the boutique without "playing the game" or spending huge amount of money. You just need to be yourself, and show an honest wish to get THAT bag you're dreaming of. So happy for you Claire, I can remember your first unboxing of an Hermès bag, how excited you were, and look at your fabulous collection now! I have got my B30, exactly as I wanted it, after a long time dreaming about it and never daring to enter the boutique... I love how you mentioned being yourself. I from the US and back in 2009 I started being interested in getting myself a birkin. I meet at the time an older woman who worked at Hermes and I expressed to her how I loved bags and I really and I really wanted a birkin. I had never bought anything from Hermes before at the time I didn’t even have a Chanel ( back then I had to save for bags so Chanel was so close in price I rather have Hermes) I visited with this woman prob once every two weeks and every time I went I made sure I had a different bag on so she could see my love for bags. I want to say less than 6 months I got my first birkin in Togo leather in a Topaz color the sa was amazing we took a walk in the park before I purchased the bag just so I could get a feel for the color. It was the best money I ever spent best experience in my life when making a purchase. I had never bought anything before that birkin. I think I got lucky because of how large I wanted the bag and also just from being myself and honest and having just a wonderful sa.

I love my big bags. Always have and probably always will. I still wear them and enjoy them despite the trends. I do have some smaller bags (not micro bags though) for going out etc, but for everyday I prefer something big that can fit all of my essentials.

I’m always begging people to remove the plastic from their bags!!!! Glad you mentioned it. I worked for a luxury handbag store and customers would come in and brag on keeping it on and I would beg as I cleaned the bags to not do that. Lol so ladies don’t do that

And to get offered more than one they probably know you well enough. So most likely you need to go to the store and buy other stuff build a relationship and not stalk them for a bag as there's a whole bunch of people they know who have been waiting for a bag for years

It's hard to kind of request a colour but state your preferences and see if they have any/offer you any (if they have it) and if they do see what colour you're offered. You may be in luck and they may have a mini in and in colour(s) you like. I would say go in normal, smile and strike up convo with an SA, BE open to learn more about the brand and also not 'rigid' helps. Good luck and don't give up :)
