WHAGHAA, that is exactly what I love about it. Clothes should be designed and created for years of wear. Of course, that one odd piece of fabulous fad never hurt anyone. :-) I have to say, though, I am NOT in love with skinny pants. No matter the hem length. :-)

every year where you put the cuff or the hem changes depending on what is fashionable .... how far a pant leg should hang over a shoe for instance ...can u go past the laces ..?....otherwise its just well made clothes ....

I really liked the collection. I just wish they had filmed it better, you only get to see the front of the clothing, and briefly the side, never the back. But its a very elegant and simply concept.

They're not very comparable.. They have very different styles and their price range is quite different as well. I'd go with Hermès on most things.

Gucci is Euro trash, and culturally irrelevant at this point in the industry. They've lost their desirability within the realm of serious buyers, and clientele with their loud branding. The same goes for Versace, and Armani; they had their time. As far as quality goes, the two are not comparable.

dd dfa I don't know what it is about Hermes, you find undignified, but neither is Gucci. Gucci isn't exactly "young" either. They try to be, but the zeitgeist of it is not authentic. Nothing about Gucci has any dignity to it. That was lost a long time ago. Tom Ford may have saved the brand for a moment in the past decade, but that time of loud branding is done. The difference being that Hermes is still exclusive, desirable luxury that is RESPECTED, Gucci isn't. The Gucci brand has become over saturated in the market, this being a wide public opinion. To compare the two brands isn't fair either. One relies heavily on being commercial to sell, to be much more forward, and out there, the other (Hermes) relies on the quality of their goods to give their namesake. You started your original comment about comparing the two, and I'm just giving you a reasonable wide public opinion on why people favor one over the other.

Terrible, unsteady camera-work! Jerky and choppy panning! Sometimes out of focus. Fashion Channel should be embarrassed with it's Hermes video presentation!
