You're right it's a shame, but in my opinion I often enjoy the video of the top half more than the lower half. I don't know why, but it is what it is. The difference is definitely too much, but there are so many that most of the viewer can't view everything.

@@Jm0417-sit’s really not, they’re just not as entertaining. Especially not to the wider audience. Grian is at the top because he is basically a child himself with that attention span and the need to constantly be entertained. And so he’s gotten good at making entertaining videos with pranks and elaborate shenanigans, along with being a better than average builder. I get that some of you like them, but overall they just don’t put as much effort in or have that spark that you need to be an extremely popular creator. They’re just kind of dull and mediocre.

Glad to see more people going over to Skizz. I reckon so many people who watch other Hermits just knew him as “Impulse’s friend” or “That guy from the Life Series”. But now that he’s actually in Hermitcraft they’re checking out his content and see on how amazing it is. I also think Doc’s number is really impressive when you consider that it’s 3 hours long. I haven’t watched it yet because I haven’t been available for 3 hours straight yet.

The fact that Cub, Beef and Ren can be so far down after the insane work they put in the past couple seasons is wild. These guys grind like crazy when some others can get away with making 2x episodes and calling it a day, not even finishing things they started on week 3.

Beef's TCG creation from Season 9 was absolutely crazy! He had to grind so hard just to make it, and it absolutely took the whole server by storm, followed by the world, with a web-based version of it, then a real-world version published by Creo! He absolutely deserves so many more viewers than he's actually getting! Ren's Gigacorp island was amazing on its own. Add in Blue River Raceway? Absolutely crazy grind! Not to mention leading the entire King Rendog storyline as well! Also, one cannot deny his amazingly smooth, buttery voice! Cub has always been a crazy grinder! I remember watching early Season 9 he did an episode where he tested 3 different methods of mining, digging somewhere close to 1000 diamonds in each of the 3 methods, just to see which mining technique was most efficient! Then there was Total Chaos! The man has only one speed, and that speed is grind. He would definitely make the Goat proud! Also, his performance in Decked Out 2 was spectacular!!

Simple answer, more doesn’t mean better. Plus people typically don’t enjoy watching the people who grind, they enjoy the ones who are entertaining. And on Minecraft the ones who can build well or do cool redstone things as well as entertain will most likely be the ones with more views.

Etho's videos are harder to gauge cause they have a longer lifespan than most other youtubers. His viewcount will literally slowly climb for weeks after the video. Since his fans are used to longer breaks between videos which encourages people to watch it at their own pace instead of right when it comes out to keep up. His episode 1 will most like have a million views but not till like 3-4 weeks from now. Also people religiously rewatch etho videos. His older videos perform irrationally well even after years of being out.

I know, but from a content creator perspective, they can improve their videos a ton, but they choose to stay in their style making it harder for them to get more views. People like fast cuts, voice overs, and funny moments. Iv'e never laughed at a xbcrafted or Hypnotized video.

Dang, beef's video was really good! He should definitely have a lot more views. It was one of the few vids that was shorter, and had such hilarious interactions plus some giveaways and throwbacks! Tango and cub have some really cool ideas with auto crafters this season, and both their videos ought to be watched for sure. Keralis really got screwed on his first episode. Zedaph probably had the most interesting first episode of all. I clicked off of hypnos unfortunately. It really wasn't too captivating. Ren's was confusing cuz he had a really long episode 0 for the coop caving event which was actually pretty funny, but it made his episode 1 feel like it missed context. Grian had the most exciting demise moment by far, and mumbo had one of the funniest episodes of all, so I guess they're deserved. I personally started with Joel, then impulse, then pearl, then Bdubs, then grian, then gem, then Etho, then tango, then Iskall, then Skizz, then Ren, then zed, then Keralis, then cub, then beef. I tried and gave up on hypnos. No one else popped up in my feed, but I'm gonna do xisuma, doc, and Cleo next. Might try the others, but they usually don't enter my watch lists.

From a content perspective, they could easily change their style of filming and add tons of more interesting content, which would appeal to todays 15-20 year olds but I doubt they would want to so their getting less views, simply because they haven't changed their style of editing.

@@Adriannakas I'm not really sure that's the case because pretty much all the hermits have stayed genuine and are sticking to what they've always done. Etho hasn't changed his editing or personality in the 10 years he's been on KZbin and he still gets good views. Mumbo and Grian do get an edge because they cater to a younger audience, though.

Mumbo has become a bit more snappy but I think that was more of a creative choice to add some humour in rather than feed to a younger audience. @@mintish_ he's been basing with his friends for every season he's been in, feels to me like he doesn't really care about getting to know the other hermits more. The whole group on the mountain already feels old to me bc there's no new dynamics, even with 2 new hermits, they've all already been playing together for a long time, in different variations, not to mention they're all in the life series together as well. I understand wanting to be close to your friends but I feel like I've seen this 10 times before. Sadly people will watch the same thing gladly from 7 different povs and then don't watch anyone else bc they don't have the time

@@didi81_its not really grians fault that he bases near the same people every series. everyone always gravitates towards the people they know the best. like iskall and stress or xb and hypno and also alot of the smaller hermits are smaller because they prefer to be a bit more solo like xb is. xb has said multiple times that hes quite antisocial. its all up to how social each hermit is. the more social ones tend to hang out with the more social ones and the more less social ones hang out with the other less social ones. as someone whos antisocial myself being near someone like grian or scar constantly would be a bit of a nightmare

A large proportion of the audience is made up of younger viewers, like teens and children. Grian's style is very appealing to them. My daughter was maybe 8 or 9 when she became a Grian fan. She found him more entertaining than most of the others. I suspect this has a lot to do with his view count. When I first started watching Hermitcraft, back in Season 8, I didn't follow Grian, even though I was subbed to him (from old building tutorials and stuff like that). But now I'm watching all the Hermits, and even though not every video is amazing, he can have an amazing moment at any time, and you won't know about it unless you watch!
