Bumbo you should force Iskall to include diorite in one of his major builds for losing the build battle! :D Also the way to make everything source blocks is to make each layer all source blocks from the bottom up. You do this by putting the water against the side. You shouldn't have to place any blocks.

Mumbo what your doing is putting the water source down then blocking it back up. What you need to do is block the whole thing up then place water , break a layer , place water break a layer etc..(so they are all source blocks)

Easier way to make water source blocks: Use the frost walker enchantment to freeze the water and when the water thaws, all the water ( regardless if it was originally a source block or flowing ) will become a source block

Mumbo, use leaf blocks, small custom made chorus plants with string on top to prevent growth, and long grass. Some teracota might look good in the aquariums. Also fill up the tanks with ice and melt them to make water source blocks. You also need some more lights in your storage system, you can put sea lanterns underneath colored carpets or behind banners to blend in. ALSO, make yourself a bed room with a bed to respawn in. Plus, I have an idea for your item transporters that might work, but I am not sure. Maybe you could load up Shulker box's with items and send them to be emptied in their storage, this way hoppers would be used way less and you would not have to remove all your hopper lines, just add in little circuits to fill and empty the Shulker boxs.

If you freeze water with frostwalker and then unfreeze it, every flowing water block should've been replaced with a source block. At least that used to work.

This was like that in a pre-release. Frostwalker does not freeze flowing water. What mumbo should have done was to fill the aquarium with normal ice blocks and then break them.

When it comes to the water, start at the bottom, putting the source blocks in an L so it fills in the area for you (and manually put sources in areas tucked away with only 1 opening)

Mumbo I suggest adding end rods for lighting, as well as tips for the stalactites. Also, I would like for some of the guardians to be named after your subscribers. The corals are ok, though the glazed terrecota patterns, aren't very aesthetically pleasing, when unfinished. I have to say I love this series and just binge watched the whole thing. I watched Mumbo back in the day and this brought me back to minecraft after not playing for about a year. That said I have to ask has recent updates raised the minium requirements of Minecraft? My now 5 year old cheap PC used to handle the game pretty well, a fairly solid 30fps single player. I log into my world now and it runs at 1 fps, with spikes up to maybe 10. It's the same world I was using for years but the jump from 1.10 to 1.12 basically seemed to crash it despite none of my farms being on and no real redstone running.

The long edge of the minecarts need to be going down the water stream because the long edge of minecarts are slightly longer than a full block. The short edge of the minecart is about the same size as a full block so when it hits the sign/air gap it doesn't reach over to the next flowing water source, that's why you have a villager backup. To fix this you need to have the rail making a turn just before the villager/minecart drops into the stream.

Use water+ice streams, but at the end of the line (or anywhere that you see items piling up), have a very-long-delay timer which occasionally puts out some lava for 1 tick, to clean up anything that gets backed up

I know this was from over a year ago, but the way I usually create source blocks is planting kelp, as kelp creates source blocks wherever it goes. Always been a foolproof way for me to create source blocks where needed.

To do source blocks, you fill the tank with source blocks. By hand. They fixed the whole "Water doesn't make source blocks on top of other water sources" issue a couple versions ago.

The way I create water source blocks in deep areas like that is to use ice and glow stone. Put a layer of ice, use glow stone to melt it, then break the glow stone, rinse and repeat till you've filled to the desired level :)

Water will only create a new source block when two source blocks can flow into it. It's pretty easy, therefore, to make a square pond, but when you have irregular shapes the little bits on the side are what you need to focus on. If you look at a spot carefully you can figure out what spots you will need to fill. As a general rule though, you should always start at the bottom and work your way up, making sure each layer has no flowing water, but failing that, just make sure you fill in the odd bits.

Mumbo about the transportation system.. just go back to your old packed ice-water streams design and at the hopper at the end of the transport system add a dispenser with a bucket of lava which will activate whenever the hopper is full (if this makes sense xD) . Easy fix for the overflow

MUMBO, YOU COLOSSAL SPOON! to fill an area with water source there isn't a quick way. You have to fill it up from the bottom of a tank by filling each layer one at a time FROM THE BOTTOM UP, just line the edge of the tank's walls with water source, you can't create source blocks from water flowing down, only from the sides. If you get the strategy right you should be able to fill a tank in about 5 minutes, if that. PS, the tank you filled in this episode doesn't look much different because it isn't, it's not full of source blocks.

Hey Mumbo, just a suggestion, but: 1. If you're diligent enough, try connecting all the tanks through a series of underground tubes. 2. Add some corals that are made from highly textured blocks, like wool. Also, add some with softer colors. 3. Make a small tank that's placed underground and have the top aligned with the aquarium floor, that way you can have a walk-on tank.

Get rid of the terracotta, it looks horrendous. Use plants like grass and sugar canes for seaweed, dead bushes, vines on the sea lanterns, and use LESS and shorter chorus plants by putting string on top of them. Edit: i've read the replies and yeah a few pink and red terracotta dotted around here and there would definitely bring more colour to the aquarium. Ps: This is just my opinion

The glazed terracotta coral looks good, but it'll be best kept to the surfaces and pockets where it looks like small corals and beds of sea anemones, not sticking up into the air and blocking the view.

For filling weird shapes with water, just place source blocks all around the outside of the bottom layer, then move up 1 layer and repeat, as long as they have source blocks under them, the next layer up acts as if it is on solid blocks and spreads properly. Also, have you consquidered putting anything else in the aquarium?

Surely filling the tanks from the bottom up with source blocks would have been less painful and more successful than trying to do it from the top down?

the tank is still not filled with source blocks, you need to fill it, from bot to top

MUMBO JUMBO use ice blocks (NOT PACKED ICE) in the aquarium tubes. Once the ice in in place you can either wait for the ice to melt with a high enough light level (not recommended) or you can punch the ice into source blocks.

Mumbo PLEASE make the guardian tubes have flat walls so they don't get caught in corners and they'll be easier to see (don't make the outside flat just the inside)

Hey, Mumbo! Build the water from the bottom up, one layer at a time. Source blocks forming on top of the water have been introduced a very long time ago. The wiki says it was back in 2013, I quote: "13w03a - Water source blocks form even if there isn't a solid block under them". So how did you manage to never learn of this or notice it during gameplay for more than three years is beyond me. Total spoon.
