They aren’t going to reset the nether. Any loaded chunks aren’t going to be affected by an update that comes after they were loaded. The way minecraft works, it’s actually impossible.

Mumbo, scavenge your redstone from The Button before the Nether reset. It is going to vanish, so there is no point letting it stand as a memory. Or if you don't want to scavenge the redstone, you could make the whole The Button machine explode when it dies.
