Tango! Suggestion again: One of the ways to make power outages more interesting is to have phases. The first phase will be just the lamps turning off. If the players still don't fix the outage, the second phase will happen, with a warden that is in close enough range that it will give the player darkness effect!

For the meat/freezer concept: rather than push a button and wait on a delay, have several barrels scattered throughout a large freezer. When they push the button, the meat will randomly show up in one of the barrels. They will have to keep opening the barrels until they find the right one.

The one issue with this is if someone presses the button 50 times, then they would have 50 meat without have to wait on it later.

Various ideas I have for the game. Traps: Salmonella - Players have a chance of getting splashed with poison when they get meats from the freezer Angry Cows - Cows have a chance at "kicking" (probably just a splash damage potion) a player when milked Angry Chickens - Basically the same as angry cows but for when the players get eggs Upgrades: Recycling - Replaces your trash can with a composter which automatically empties itself when full and gives bone meal but only accepts organic material as trash Smart Furnace - Furnace cooks slower but no longer burns food Fast Furnace - Furnace cooks and burns food twice as fast Mop - Upgrades your trusty broom into a mop(probably shears with efficiency) which tears through mess but is bad at dealing with rats I like the idea of adding Mushroom Stew, Rabbit Stew, and Fermented Spider Eyes to the menu. Fermented Spider Eyes would add another use for sugar. You could farm mushrooms and have spider eyes in the freezer. Also with having Mushroom Stew, Beetroot Soup, and Rabbit Stew you could give the players a limited number of bowls so that they would have to reuse them after each customer. You would have to use allays for the filtering but I think it would be worth the effort. You could have different styles of restaurants that you choose from at the beginning of the game to change up that game. Formal - Crafter and Furnace take longer, Homestyle - Ingredients take longer to acquire, Fast Food - Customers' wait time is decreased substantially, Casual - More mess and more rats. I'd hope that instead of using nametags with armor stands for showing orders you could just do the food in item form either on the table or above the customers head. I like the visual representation more than straight up words. Also you might be able to see names through walls or they would bunch up with other names. It just kinda feels like it ruins the immersion. Idk maybe that's just me. 43:54 Just make them put the item frames on the wall and call them cabinets. I'll update this when I come up with more. So excited Tango! Keep up the good work!

Tango, I just have to say, even though I'm a new viewer of yours, thank you so much for streaming. I always have your stream in the background while working, I've started since Decked Out 2 streams, and you never dissappoint. Even if its redstone talk, you somehow make them interesting to watch in long form content. Thank you for bringing joy to our lives Tango.

An easy way to add cake to the game is to make it the only acceptable food source for the players. You could have the players craft a cake as the tutorial part, and the game starts when they place the cake on its “cake stand” It would add a layer of stress if they run out of food when battling rats and get slow from lack of healing, ( unless you have a regen beacon for that). The players would be forced to make more cakes to help play the game.

Suggestion on how to add cake: once the player has inputted their product, filter out all the stackable items that could be accepted. What is left over is anything unstackable or an invalid item. You can then send this into a composter via a hopper minecart running over it. This will put anything in the composter that can be composted. Cake is the only non-stackable that is compostoble so should be the only thing entering the composter and anything else can be discarded. Cake is one of two things (other is pumpkin pie) that guarantees the composter level to increase. This can be detected by an observer (and maybe also a comparator but im not sure about that one) This can be used as whenever the composter level increments it can be detected and we can assume that is a cake submitted Edit: comparator signal strength changes based on compost level so that can also be used

Taking it one step further, we can add milk. Send the item to a crafter that has all the cake recipe ingredients except for a single milk. Then attempt to craft it. If successful, we know that a milk was passed. Otherwise we can empty and refill the crafter and pass the input item along.

On the topic of unstackable sorting for cake/soup: Allays can pick up items instantly out of a waterstream, take 2gameticks (0.1sec) to drop it again if in range and paired to a noteblock. Then they have a 3sec cooldown until they can pick up items again. This means allay filters are only 0.1sec slower than normal hopper filters. Unless you plan on "checking if a hermit got the right food" faster than 3.1sec, inbetween armourstands, a single allay per food type is fast enough

Also since the pickup range for allays is 1.3blocks, you can have the allay in a minecart on the opposite side of the waterstream than the filter for the named armourstand, making it 1wide tileable per food.

For fishing, to remove the randomness you can have them cast the lure onto a pressure plate and wait. After some time, something changes and they have to immediately remove the lure in order to successfully "capture" the fish. Also I think Grian has a few thousand spare fish you might be able to borrow.

Hello again, Tango! Suggestion: There could be a delivery section in the kitchen where the items from the farm come after a player has put some vegetables into a mail box of sorts to be delivered to the kitchen. However, the players need to quickly take out the items from the delivery section in the kitchen, or else the delivery truck will leave with all of the items inside it!

Dispensers on a randomizer in the freezer; the dispensers have powdered snow in them, so at random times the powered snow is up and then someone has to go "fix" the freezer to get the powdered snow out of the way.

About the Cake and Soup (and other unstackabbles) issue - you can set 1 or 2 spots for "difficult" VIP customer. They would show up rarely at VIP tables with custom decorations etc., so you could dedicate Allays only for those spots instead of Redstone sorters (those would be used everywhere else).

About storage with crafters: Tango, you could give players a crafter but they are allowed only to use one slot (if more stackes are used hopper beneath will suck out and void items). This way you could introduce an upgrade to allow a second slot.

Allays might still be a good option- in minecarts to remove the item and use redstone to determine when the item is removed instead of when it is deposited somewhere. Ie- a minecart with the allay holding a cake goes along with the ‘player’ ordering food. When the chef delivers the food, it will fall to the pressure plate and if it is correct, the allay will remove it and the redstone will trigger. If it isn’t the right food, it would stay there and either fail the player or reset after a penalty time. This should work for stackable and non stackable items if I’m not wrong.

Can you change what item an allay is holding with redstone? Or would you need a bread allay, carrot allay, etc., and need multiple for all the customer processors?

hi Tango, ive dealt with your bee farm issue many times. I think it happens on chunk unloading at exact time the dispenser is asked to fire. I have fixed this by moving a large slime bar to cut the dust (where the dust goes down) and just pulsing the slime bar on a very slow etho clock.

Hello Tango! Mumbo and other redstoners have made tilable none stackble sorters using Allays in minecart with water flowing beside them that carries the items to ve sorted. These none stackble sorters can be at the end of the sorters for food that is delivered and should work just fine.

Suggestion: Tango, you can still have cake as a food in the game because crafters put thrir items from left to right top to bottom. This will mean that cake recipe is even harder because players need to put the items in the correct order for the crafter to craft it, which will make cake a terryfing recipe which will only be ordered once in a million. Now, if they put the items in the wrong order, the crafter will be emitting full signal strength. And since there could be a system after the crafter to check if the crafter has crafted something, the system can know if the items inside the crafter are in wrong order because no item is crafted and the crafter is still full of items. This could trigger a hopper underneath the crafter to dump all of the items into lava. And maybe... just maybeeeee.... a punishment will be put in place......

Tango, you can definitely filter cake, soups and potions quick enough with allays! And if you want more complex cooking recipes, you should use potions for that! They can even be evolving recipes adding more and more ingredients and steps, like in plate up! Pros: - 1 time player choosen spot or fixed spot (maybe give player pickaxe to relocate brewing stand between rounds) - each brewing step takes decent amount of time, enough to do other quick tasks inbetween! - if a player doesnt know the recipe, it takes time to look it up (in a recipe book placed somewhere in game), which adds to the chaos and taxes mental capacity. (or make custom names for even more chaos) - player gets rewarded by using less time if they memorized the recipes! (building up game knowledge) - it doubles as a freezer unit for potions only, like with coffee in plate up. - multiple recipes, sometimes also involving the crafter (which functions like a cutting board, like fermented spider eyes, glistering melon etc.). - easily scalable and more complex recipes than "normal" minecraft food recipes. - recipes can get more complex overtime by making extended, splash, inverted and even lingering potions! (or giving the player the option to choose between new recipe or more advanced potion! - "automation" upgrade with a hopper! As a 1 time placement: Hopper for fuel, water bottle refill or "auto brewing" ingredients. Or hopper as a fixed multi slot plate/counter. Cons: - Ingredient slot could be used as storage for some specific items, like golden carrot, glistering melon etc. - needs allays for sorting

Since cake outputs a comparator signal, you could have a cake counter that can open up in a wall somewhere. To deliver you'd have to place it down, where that signal is detected and the cake is broken by a piston.

I still think using hoppers and throwing items into them to get the 'processed' versions is the better method. You can endlessly recycle the stock. You can time them far easier and you can change the number of processing/prepping steps on every recipe. Also enables far more processing stations

Idea for thawing meat! Ice block (generated using armorstand with boots like in DO2) blocking the path behind it. The player needs to place a torch to melt the ice and get to the meat. The bolck below the torch then pops up to break the torch. After the torch has been bronken and the player leaves the room, move armor stand again. You can use an observer to detect ice melting, and I think you can use a daylight sensor to detect the torch being placed/removed.

Cake would be the only food that is placeable and thus detectable by an observer. You could have a "cake window/display case" where you place the cake. When it gets detected, the system could check against the customers to see if anyone has the "cake" filter which could be a stackable item renamed in the hopper filter. Maybe easier, the "cake window/display case" spits out a renamed maybe retextured item that is stackable and able to be put in the customers hand and filtered

An idea for dish washing: a shulker box full of shovels (spoons) is dispensed in the dining area, that players then have to break by hand and load into the "dishwasher" (a space above a hopper where they have to press a button to piston-break the shulker). Then after a period of time the shulker is dispensed from the dishwasher and players have to take it to a cabinet to store the cutlery away. This can then be cycled back through to reload the dining area dispenser. For interrupt on it, it could be that the customers can't accept their orders if the dining area dispenser is empty because they have no cutlery. It would probably need a few shulkers in the system so it is "don't let the dishes pile up" rather than "oh no, we automatically lose because the dishwasher won't be done in time".

1:43:00 a workaround to this would be to have two parallel counters, one for armor stands with names one for armor stands without names, but have the comparator signal pass through a block for each, and this block can be removed, so that you can disable one of the book lines from being read. All you have to do is switch which book line is being read, and it should be seamless.

I have a similar honey farm & I run into this issue all the time. I think It's if the dispenser fires as the honey is being refilled, so the compairor doesn't ever change & a constant redstone signal doesn't fire the depensor a 2nd time. I'm planning on adding a very slow timer to unstick this

Idea for the freezer timing: you could have the barrels of meat accessible only through a water block. That water block is constantly being frozen over by a moving Frost Walker armor stand (pushed by dispensed water -- I tested, and weirdly pushing with a piston doesn't trigger Frost Walker). You have to press a button to "thaw" it, which just stops moving the armor stand and allows the frosted ice to melt, giving you access to the barrel below. With an observer, you can detect when the ice melts and start a short timer before it auto-resets and starts moving the armor stand again to re-freeze it. AND you can even lock the door of the freezer while it's thawing -- for "health and safety reasons" 😁 -- so they have to wait it out inside the powdered snow. Fully auto-resettable, adds a flavorful delay, AND makes them more stressed as they're freezing while they wait. (Maybe even have dispensers in the floor keep adding/removing powdered snow while things thaw, so they have to run back and forth to stay out of it and avoid freezing to death?)

two suggestions: 1. The cake and soup could be mini games within the mini game, so every now and then there is a a birthday party private booking and all other customers are removed but a whole bunch of kids arrive (kids could be allays) and the player has to make a birthday cake for them, maybe also have to do other changes around restaurant for like maybe there's a private room that has to be set up for the party, banners hung etc. For the soup it could be a busload of OAPs arrive for the Early Bird special and a certain number of soups have to be made in bulk. again private room is used to accommodate them but has to be set up differently than for birthday party. 2. provide the one carrot etc by just having it planted so the first time they get a carrot order they have to go out and harvest it but if they don't replant they're stuffed.

As for the cake filter. Why not set it as the final check? As in its not the other foods, its not the items used in the game, its not the filler blocks, its not a player head, then its cake!

when you were talking about customers sitting in different rooms in different layouts, it made me remember how some restaurants have areas where smoking is allowed, and in these rooms the air is thick with smoke and stuff. i dont know if it's possible to make in game, but its a fun concept to have a "smoking" area with a bunch of campfires underneath the floor that make it hard to see the customer patience state and their order! a hard mode if you will. and in terms of redstone it can be like, a separate little room in which the entrance is revealed only in certain layouts, so when hermits aren't playing with the correct layout it's completely hidden and customers don't appear there. but also smoking is bad so maybe not 🤔 don't smoke, kids!

@Tango Tek2 Your guardians could be the landlords collecting rent...the show up and stand at the back door...you have to pay them or the door opens and they zap you. There could be a "jangling keys" warning sound like they are trying to let themselves in. Honey blocks would probably look nicer than mud for flat surfaces that would be instantly hoppered clean. BUT, an item frame on a partial block like honey or mud allows you to place an item in the frame, but when it you pop it out, the hopper seems to always grab it before the player can. Another word of caution...the stages of the hermit animation will "spread" to all of the adjacent hermit armor stands when the different books are powered. That is unavoidable if you keep them all seated close together...each triggered book will activate all of the armor stands in range.

For the bill, you could make them have to rename the food at a "till" that is an anvil. Make them die to enter the game, and you can throttle their XP as well. They'll get some naturally from furnace interactions, but they could need to restock on "ink" by doing something in order to get XP bottles.

Vague freezer idea: The lock is really sticky on the freezer so it takes something time consuming to unlock it (maybe the button on the door only works a quarter of the time!)

For when players die, you could have a lot of items at the spawn point to completely fill their inventory, then they move one to the offhand to get their one slot.

I don't know if you would want to do this, but if the tables are switched to powdered snow. Food would be delivered to the table where it is in real life. And then a hermet wouldn't have to release the customer via button push, item would be read automatically when going through the hopper. Customer leaves when meal is received. Adds or subtracts points based on proper food. Also to cover cake, or soup could have a special counter like bakery/ramen shop to get soup/cake. These would have more stringent on time.

To leave the friza you have to put the meet in a defroster. That open the door. You go do something else as defrosting. You can then take out the meet but leave it to long and you get rotten flesh..

Dirty shulkers w/ cauldrons is the easiest way to do washed and dirty dishes. A shulker w/ brown dye in a crafter could be how those are made dirty.

With the ceiling since you are already dispensing trash, you could throw in fire charges. That way they might occasionally get a fire in the kitchen.

#allays 🤔using allays not bad, time spent = customer eating🤷‍♀️ Allays won’t take anything that doesn’t match = filter for any item. Food delivered to hopper under table goes into dropper in front of allay underneath > allay delivers correct item to pressure plate releasing “customer” to drop back down “satisfied”, and minecart collects item. Fail scenario = timer countdown initiated by item passing through dropper but not stopped by pressure plate > countdown tones alert to incorrect submission, resubmission = timer reset/restart.

The chef hat could also be a reward for lasting a certain amount of time in the game, or winning if there is an ultimate win condition. Also, as a challenge, maybe you could have them craft the cake and have a "cake counter" where they put it on an observer, comparator, etc., somewhere out of the way and they have to run over to it and "take" a slice before or after giving an order for it to go through. This might be unnecessarily complicated just to have cake included though

with the meat in the freezer, you could push ice in front of the barrel so the player has to "chip" the ice away to get the meat. like in your own freezer when stuff is left in there too long.

Coal placed in oven after the time limit expires is a good idea since you need to get rid of the burned meal before the stove can be reused.

For the countertop you could use a slime block on a piston and bounce it into the ceiling where you can use water streams or something to move it to a collection system

It'd be nice if the minecart ride to the farm was something the players had to do every once in awhile. So like a "restock" obviously this would require some sort of storage container the player in the farm could send the ingredients into

If you make a table, you put shove a hopper minecart into it. Then if anything is just thrown onto it, it will be put in to the minecart. Then another hopper minecart from under it should be able to pick it up from it.

Would be cool and easy for the times farm delivery to be a water run that wraps around with 3-4 water on the far side where it starts, so they can either put the items in the stream closer to the hole for quicker delivery, or a few blocks further back in the water stream for a delayed delivery

Freezer Idea: MOLD A glow lichen will randomly be bonemealed and spread into the freezer, and until you clean up the "mold" all the meat you get from the freezer will be rotten flesh instead.

Breaking the freezer: Pistons below the floor remove and drop you into a 'repair' room below... you have to 'fix' something there (even just pushing a button 'enough' times can stand in for the fix) then dash up some stairs and run back into the restaurant. The floorplan you choose in the beginning may make it easier or harder for getting back into the restaurant can deeply effect how quickly you can return at it gets latter in stages by either the preformed stages or by randomly dropping gravity blocks from above? Cake: you can 'add' a deliverable cake service as you progress in the time. Add observers to a hole in the wall facing up (blocked until activating the service), and when a portion of the wall 'opens' (which = an order) you build a cake and then pop the cake onto the observer, which will notice and register as a success since most food does not = a placeable block. Garbage (pots): if you are trying to add the choices between a finished day you can use +more pots OR + an item frame access (to prevent forgetting WHICH pot accepts what) Pot on floor, a piston or spruce trapdoor hiding the item frame which can be opened depending on which one you choose?

I have an Idea for taking the bill from the customer - you can have a dispenser behind the customer that throws the bill after the customer leaves. The player has to use that bill to open the fridge for the next customer or to activate the oven to bake etc.

Food idea: Different sandwiches could be meat plus bread in crafter = named bread. Example: cook the chicken, make the bread, put inside crafter(or whatever), and a hopper can take the items out and a piece of bread named chicken sandwich gets spit out.

For the template idea I feel like you could indicate that on the floor with a color code. Let’s say you have light blue, red and green concrete in the floor to show where the walls need to be. Maybe you have just a block at each corner to indicate which dots need to be connected to form a wall.

For the freezer, instead of a button to open the door to go in/out, how about you have to put on a jacket? When you grab the leather chest piece, the door opens. When you get to the back of the freezer, the door closes. To open the door and get out, you have to toss the jacket in a "bin". The door closes behind you after a couple seconds.

This would require a redesign but you could have shulker boxes as plates. That way you could put all the stuff for their meal in the shulker box. Check if the contents match the order and then give back a shulker box with some mess to clean out to replace washing dishes.

the bees in the hive are being detected by the comparator as well as the honey, which makes the comparator signal stronger than 5.

Freezer could be an ordering system like Sahara. It was know for being slow! This would also add another level of risk/reward. Put in a large "order" to save time later, but you risk having to throw the extra food on the floor.

To keep bees from breaking, I set them up to all trigger every 10 minutes on a despawn clock. Sometimes an empty bottle gets through, but most of the time 10 is enough for them to fill. Upside is a single line of redstone and clock is much smaller and more reliable.

For the bonemeal issue in having enough out of a composter to be worthwhile you could have the messes the customers create dispense moss or something compostable. This way they can't keep growing food without each successive new order. Additionally if the messes need to be cleared to get it they would need to manage movement speed and getting the broom as well as time.

For communicating different level layouts in game, you could use Litematica. Regarding item passing, you might want to check if an item can be passed over a 2 block wall by jump dropping on top of the wall, then picking up from the other side. If so, then 2 high walls become countertops.

If you put Allays in minecarts, so they are trapped in place, put a noteblock a block away and then run unstackable items by the Allays, like through a water stream, they filter them out really fast. If it's not fast enough, you can put multiple minecarts with Allays in the same block, up to 24. If you have multiple note blocks just make sure to trigger them in the same tick, then the Allays get assigned to the one closest to them. You can also combine that with regular item filters, so you only have to use Allays for nonstacksble items.

With the farm you could put a bonemeal dispenser on a "semi-random" tick update and then it means there's more than likely going to be food available when it's needed, but there's a chance it's not ready yet.

You could do cake! You just have to make the player place it on the "cake counter" and read a comparator off it. When someone asks for cake, the player has to take a slice from the cake counter and 'give it' to the customer. It'd be a different system but it could work. Alternatively cake could be the player's only legal source of food (and thereby sprint). You provide them with however much cake at the start of a run and one thing that ramps up the difficulty is the start of run cakes run out, and players have to start making cakes if they want to eat.

One of your difficulty settings / cards could be that cake is a dessert. You wouldn't be able to filter it. But instead you would test the sequence that they had been served two items, and the second item (cake) didn't hit any other filters.

I think Minecraft should add pipes. Make something less taxing on the server than hopper chains or massive number of entities flowing down a water way.

I was thinking about the stacking issues with crafted foods. If you are making "crafting modules" for any processing step, you could program recipes based on existing Minecraft recipes but have the items spit out be a retextured iron nugget so you can do whatever filtering you want. The food doesn't need to be genuinely consumable, it only needs to be visually accurate to player expectations and functional within the game.

So, cake detectable by a comparitor. You could have a cake even where the cake goes in a whole in the wall and the player places the cake, if the cake is place a comparitor will detect it snd then can break the cake with a piston.

The bee farm isnt working for 2 reasons: 1. because there are slabs where the redstone dust drops down 1 block (redstone dust needs a full block to send a signal down). Those slabs need to be full blocks so the redstone dust can send signals down. This is why the basic 1 wide tileable layouts for honey farms tend to have dust for 5 blocks (5th block drops 1) then repeaters underneath going back into a block under the dispenser. When it reaches power level 5 (full hive), it powers the block that powers the repeaters to activate the dispenser. 2. The other issue is due to tangos top layer of redstone dust being only 3 long, so if it was built with full blocks and repeaters, it would only power the dispenser when the hive is only half full, so it would never properly harvest the hives unless a nearby dispenser is activated after the first one is completely full. TL//DR It should look like the following: First (top) row: Hive -> comparator -> 4x dust -> drop 1 block for 5th dust. Second (bottom) row: Full Block under 5th dust -> 5x repeaters -> block under the dispenser that is underneath the hive. Its a little bulky for big farms, but its simple, reliable and 1 wide tileable. Its a super simple fix for tango to make, extend the top layer of dust by 2 blocks (so its 5 long in total with the 5th dust dropped down 1 block) with a full block under the 4th and 5th dust and then use repeaters underneath going back to power a full block under the dispenser, should be all thats required to get it working properly. Hopefully tango can see this and get his honey farm running properly again.

For item frame / countertop problem: hang a trapdoor, open fence gate, etc. from the ceiling and attach an item frame. If the items r pointing downward it looks like a hanging rack

To give feedback, why would a restraunt have a farm? I suggest the tables for your armor stands should have a hopper minecart under it, each cart is for a specific order. Two stackables and one (optional) non stackable. When the cart reaches a threshold the order is complete. Then a new hopper minecart is put in its place. Instead of getting the orders from the armor stand, players receive a randomised book containing the order and who made it. Players deliver the order by throwing it on the customer's table.

Tango, just use the allays. You can fit multiple per block. Stagger the height of the sorter arrays. The extra time will simulate the variable times normal customers take to complain about a dish. Drinks = potions, sugar can be used in the speed potions. It's also used in fermented spider's eye. Item frames = plates Baby Zombies = annoying children that run around I need to be punished, probably predamage them first. Water bottles, I think they should be first every time, set up a pattern then change it to a honey bottle or different potions. RATS Run the mine carts in pairs, the hopper cart follows a cart with an armour stand in it, the head slot can maybe hold something that represents a rat. Although it may be too short unless the floor is half slabs??? The rails go along the room. Set up a counter along the kitchen wall (with a rail under it), for the storage plates to be put and explain it in the instructions. PLATES Maybe they need to be collected and washed up, throw item into a cauldron with a hoppercart under it, then it's spit out on a bench beside it. An item filter confirms it, triggers the plate return and opens the cupboards. CUPBOARDS Iron doors or trapdoors that block barrels etc, the doors are opened by event triggered redstone and stay open for various amounts of time. Remember, problems are just solutions waiting to happen. The warning sound associated with the armour stands should be a sad, painful groan. Keep up the great content ❤️

I feel like you could still have a viewing area above the game made of all glass, just make the ceiling that drops items above the viewing platform and make the items fall through a glass shoot, the travel time i feel like wouldnt be that noticeable and then the watchers could see the items falling too. Like "oh no theyve got rats incoming lol"
