I think I may have said something similar to that in regards to my single player vanilla series, and that hasn't changed. I've had various modded series over the years so I am definitely in favor of using mods. I started using mods on HermitCraft (Optifine & Voice Chat) when we added the Voice Chat one because Fabric is required in order to use it.

Yeah I was really confused when he said it was difficult. The only difficult part of the pre-1.9 dragon fight was the fact it attacked you as soon as you entered the End. Especially if the platform was above the void. Aside from that its really easy.

The changes after 1.9 that changed the new dragon fights "Easier" were not dragon focused but rather player focus, and the edition of elytras made anything a joke honestly. If game devs continue to pump out new and exciting weapons, they also have to either balance it with existing enemies or create new ones to counter it, which has not been done yet. This leads to everything being "pitiful" seeing as you can just steam roll over everything using the new fanciest gear and they're still stuck on 2015. The sole reason of the NWC this season was to ad a layer of difficulty to the base vanilla game play, because of how easy everything has gotten.

Tango’s going to be working on FiFi’s cave, and he’s doing it like basalt delta style. Maybe you could make him a mid-sized lava dripstone farm and/or a basalt generator nearby so he’s ready to go when he’s done moving. A nice gesture, won’t take long, and is easy to build/ tear down later when he doesn’t need it anymore.

In my opinion, having buffs be AoE (eg. speed lingering potions) and debuffs be aimed (eg. slowness arrows) makes sure that it's not a win-more situation. It'll be a lot harder to hit someone with a slowness arrow behind you, but much easier if they're ahead of you. With speed lingering potions, you have to think really hard about when and where you want to throw the potion so the people behind you don't get the boost. Also, I feel like the dripleaf jumps over the water portion may be a win-more situation too, because there's only one possible "fast" route that takes time to reset. I'm loving this season so far! So many cool new projects, and I'm loving the collabs with Iskall and Bdubs!

The variation in the horse timer is most likely due to you traveling through the cobwebs at slightly different angles. Traveling through completely straight is shorter and therefore faster than if you travel along a diagonal! Since that timer increments so fast, it may be catching the difference. Hope you see!

Regarding the lingering potions, don't they lose some linger time if they apply their effect to someone? So throwing the potion off the bridge might still work without giving you the negative effect as long as the person in front of you actually hits the pool

About the shulker box system: it is the best thing ever. I use it for my redstone box, and other craft / smelt intense materials. Like the items that you are better of crafting in bulk and the items that you Never want to run out of during a build project. Cooperators, pistons, chests and hoppers. Those types of items mainly. I also have a box for stone related building Blocks for the occasional base patch up job, when repairing things. You always need one stair, type of thing. Just pull out the box and you have everything. Stone stairs, slabs the brick and cobble variants, just perfect. I definitely plan on using them for more items as well. it would be kinda cool to also be able to sort items back in the system but I don’t think that there is a non ultra complex way to do that type of thing. I just ended up putting a second empty prepared box -slots are programmed- in the floor below the boxes that way I can easily store away some odd blocks after tearing down old redstone and such. I still have a bulk storage though for resources that are required in tons when crafting redstone components, like sand, gunpowder, chrimsonWoods (the auto-farmability makes them soooo good for crafting chests and hoppers), cobble and stone. But I’m rambling. Yes I love that shulker loader very much!

Ergo, the Lingering Potion clouds actually have their timer reduced when they affect something iirc, so if the lingering slowness potion lands on someone ahead of the person who throws it, it should theoretically disappear before the thrower runs through the area.

I built and use the ender chest shulker reloader! It's awesome and super helpful!!! But in my experience, I didn't want one of every item in the game, so I instead started by creating a full ender chest of color coded shulkers that I use the reloader for, and saved a couple slots in my ender chest for shulkers for active projects, empty shulkers to pickup from farms, bulk shulkers, and my valuables shulker. Then I organized and built my reloader in kind of the opposite order-- filling up the organized shulkers with things I knew I'd use then building and stocking the reloaders accordingly. And within those shulkers, items I often needed multiple stacks of (redstone, solid blocks, etc) I have multiple slots in the shulker. That meant I didn't use the max capacity of each shulker reloader but I preferred it that way because it fit my use case better. I also started but ended up not really using the backup shulker method-- I'd just pop my main shulker into the reloader and wait a bit for it to fill up. Then I have bulk storage auto sorter silos that feed into shulkers for easy access, and a double chest for each active project Im working on with shulkers inside for the items I need for that project.

Now that lava is a renuable resource via the dripstone you should make a smelter system that doesnt require any input of fuel. I'm sure the bamboozler would still be better but maybe this would be an interesting project?

I suggest adding more dripleaf "channels" so that in a chase scenario, if the one in front falls (thereby failing to activate the pressure plate at the end), the ones who are following can get ahead.

A cool addition could be to add bad stat parents and extra starting bonuses for using them. For example, if you take a slow horse to be the parent, you get a slowness potion, which you might throw just after leaving the start to hit the competition. With such addition, the speeds would differ more (and some races would be slower) so it would be hard to learn the track well (because in the next race someone may slow you and the timings will be different). Edit: maybe also fireworks as general bonus? If you hit someone in the middle, they have to take the slow way on the fall, but that may also kill a horse which could be an issue (or just have players play safer so they can tank a firework)

Could be done by having parts of the course put fast horses at a disadvantage. Would also give more reason to pick donkeys. Maybe an icy stretch of the track, where taking a risk of having a fast horse will have bigger cost of failure - a portion that is harder to control with fast horses. High risk - high reward X slow and steady wins the race.

Wels tried making a squid farm but it's a fail there are almost no squids spawning . In the end Impulse made a wither roses farm to get the black ink, you might want to consider doing the same ?

I got a solution for your rabbit woes -- my favourite way to deal with the "hole in the ground" method of animal control. A single block in the center of the pen, that you can run and jump off of get out. I use this for all animal holes cause I'm sick of cows sneaking up the blocks I'm breaking, but it works best with rabbits who are... frustrating, to say the least.

You can also set up a pretty simple speed tester using fence gates and a stone pressure plate. They all open for 1 second then your horse gets stopped, gives you a block/second value

The shulker reloader is quite a convenient design, I found it very enjoyable to not have to return to base because I might be missing an item, however I found that I didnt quite use it nearly as often as I assume Etho would since he builds with any block he can find like how his last season's base was. I enjoyed collected 12 stacks of all the items to put into the system, but I found I only ever used it very very infrequently just because of the scale that I normally build at.

For the potion spots to avoid the “win more” situation, the potions should be dispensed in front of the person who activates them. That way you could have good or bad outcomes applied to the activator and anyone else could benefit or be punished to. So, instead of the player choosing to activate the system AND choose where to throw it, the player now only has one choice: whether to activate the system or not

This is unrelated to the video: I can't believe I've been subbed to this channel for almost 11 years now (possibly all 12? I can't remember). Out of every single channel I've been subbed to this is the only one that made it past the 10 year mark for me. Its a bit surreal when I think about the different series you had along the way, from the early tutorials, to CTM/RFTW, to the modded series you had. I wonder how many here realize this channel wouldn't have gotten to this point without those early fans donating to keep the channel going (too bad I was only 13 at the time). Some good ideas for '? block items' could be: - Fireworks that you can load in the crossbow, It's really easy to modify how much damage they do, and are also different enough from arrows where they deal AoE damage. - Water Walking splash potion that you can apply to your own horse, might be a bit long in terms of potion length but perhaps a water walking arrow instead. - This is also a very difficult idea to implement but would be very cool, putting 2-4 durability crossbows with enchantments such as quick charge or multishot to provide those types of enchantments without making them a direct upgrade to the default crossbow for the rest of the race. - Fishing rod is another niche item that comes to mind, for skillfully slowing people ahead of you. - Boats, this is a potentially silly idea but placing a boat wouldn't slow down players in an open field, but would increase the height of the track by 0.5 blocks, allowing for strats like placing it in front of a cave, or placing it before a wall as an easier way to climb over a fence rather than relying on the horse's jump. - Sugar, Wheat, or Apples, could be substitued in place of a healing potion (Heal pots give 1.5 or 3 hearts depending on level, but sugar wheat and apples give 0.5, 1, and 1.5 respectively). - Lingering potions could be used to affect people behind you, or if you are far ahead perhaps a lingering healing potion might be worth waiting in. On the point of power up items like arrows or food, dismounting the horse and giving it a power up arrow might be a worthwhile strategy if that's something you'd want to specify as a rule to all the racers. Hopefully some people see this since it's a lot of recommendations that would fit well, but it goes without saying that not all of these need to be implemented, they are just some basic ideas for inspiration.

Etho dont make a squid farm for black dye..make a wither rose farm.. Its wayyy more efficient and easier too i believe

In my experience wither rose farms are very annoying and difficult to build while squid farms are super easy. Squids can even spawn in flowing water and practically kill themselves. For wither roses you need to trap a wither and have a constant supply of mobs for it to kill. You're right that the rose farm is much more efficient, but it's a huge pain. Best way to get wither roses in my experience is to just spawn a wither in the end so it kills random endermen and run around to pick them up. Or alternatively spawn a wither in your chicken farm. But that's just a one time manual deal and not a farm. I know there are good designs for a wither rose farms, but if you know Etho he's not going to use any of those and try to figure out his own design which will take FOREVER.
